Don't worry Zaia, those teams couldn't hold a candle to the Raiders. Come on over to the dark side. You might as well back the team that will win the superbowl!

Say what you want, but the Giants have no excuse whatsoever for having a 24 point lead and going on to lose the game. That is just shameful.

Oh the niners will go all the way. They'll beat Tampa and then we'll get our revenge on Philly. Then we'll take out the Jets in the Super Bowl, not that i;m a Jets fan but those bastards look nigh invulnerable after they f'ed up the colts.

And then you'll take your hand off your dick and realize it was all a wank-fantasy. We OWNED you in your house on Monday night with a backup quarterback. Even if you beat Tampa Bay (which you won't), you're going to get ground into the carpet at the Vet, and the drunks in the 700 level will be sure to throw something at you before you leave in disgrace.

We'll see next Sunday. Something must have happened since then if the Giants were able to beat the Eagles and the Niners took them NYGs down today. ITs the NFL, you don't know until Kickoff. (Which would explain how some teams make it in the first place)

I'm glad that the Forty-Niners won, but I must admit that the Giants had a series of chances to end the game. That they were unable to execute was just a fortuitous turn of events.
Actually, I thought that the incredible Steeler come-back was more lucky and impressive. The Steelers seemed to be flirting with disaster on every play for more than a quarter, but they pulled it off, anyhow. The two games today were truly incredible.

Im surprised Cleveland even made the playoffs after Dwayne Rudd cost them the season opener. At least 12 of their games went down to the final minute you'd think they would be a lot better in these close games.
I for one needed the ego boost provided by the 49er win, I was at the game in San Diego where they blew a 14 pt lead and then screwed up in OT against the Chargers. I walked out of that stadium thinking that the next time at Qualcomm would be different, especially since it would be the Super Bowl.
The prophecy is coming to pass. Soon the force will come back into balance as it was in the 1980s when the Niners were kings.

Oh, and I change my AFC pick to the Raiders, they deserve it after being fucked over by the Pats last year.

The Giants won that game because they finally figured out how to beat Feely: stack the line of scrimmage, stop Duce Staley, and force A.J. to throw. And they still would have lost that game if Akers didn't somehow pull a routine field goal wide right, just like the Niners would have lost if the Giants hadn't blown two straight long snaps.
You don't get to play A.J. Feely. Assuming both teams win this weekend, you get a rehabilitated Donovan McNabb who's had a game to shake the rust off. In the meantime, you'll have just come of being pounded by the Buccaneers' defense, and will now have to stop the best blitz in football AND not throw INTs into the hands of our secondary. And you get to do it at the Vet, in the freezing cold.

Either way you slice it we're looking a lot better than we were on that Monday night. Remember, the Packers beat the Falcons during the regular season and they got thumped.
BTW, after this season you Eagles fans deserve a new stadium. I went to a Phillies game one time and that stadium shoulda been torn down and redone right after it was built.

The Vet is a terrible, terrible baseball venue. The only good seats are along the first and third base lines, in the 300 and 400 sections. Everything else is too high or too far away. It's okay as a football stadium, though its shape means that people sitting on the 50 yard line are further away from the field than people in the end zone seats. Its real problem is that the city let the place crumble instead of performing regular maintenence. The turf, of course, is legendary for its awfulness--the Nexturf they have there now isn't nearly as hard as the old Astroturf, but it's slippery as hell even when it's dry. The main thing I'm going to miss about the Vet is how loud and intimidating it was. When you're on the field, you're surrounded on all sides by the fans, and since it's a closed circle, all the noise is contained (as originally designed, it was going to be domed, which probably would have made it the loudest venue in football). The new stadium is going to be absolutely beautiful (the sightlines are so good you can actually see the field from I-95), and they're promising us that they brough in sound engineers specifically to make sure it's really loud, despite being partially open at both ends, but I have my doubts.

Damn straight. I may be a TB fan, but I know that there's no chance we'll defeat Philly. Now, if for some godforsaken reason ATL wins, that changes things (but they won't).
