That episode really capsulized the whole debate now didn't it? They captured exactly the way I see GL and to a lesser extent Speilberg. Leave the movies alone already, whats done is done. Its not art if you keep going back to fix it. The Sistine Chapel wasn't touched up by Michaelangelo every few years when a new idea struck him. A movie is what it is whether the effects weren't there when you did them or not.
These SE of SW that some fans rave so much about are utter SHITE. PLease don't mess with a classic, every single sequence felt tacked on and they even messed with a true classic, ESB and added a HORRID Vader impersonation and STOCK FOOTAGE of the shuttel landing, for what? We got teh point the first time, he said "Bring my shuttle" next thing we know he is on the Executor...do I need a few minutes of STOCK FOOTAGE and a bad Vader impersonation to make the connection?? need I mention Greedo shooting first??
Sorry, but this awful trend by GL and others to come back and revsisit their movies is really starting to tic me off and now there will be a super special duper SE for the DVD release...hey George, I THINK You've got enough money now.
Next thing we know, Han won't be shotting at all, but Greedo's blaster bolt will ricochet off a wall and end up killing him.

Does anyone know WHY in god's name he doctored his own movie to make Greedo shoot first? WHY?? I was perfectly content with Han being a heroic bastard.

Because of some kid friendly BS...who knows.
As for Stravo's richochet bit...please no ideas, he might hear it from some 20th hand source and think that would be even better.
And yeah SP did do a good job of what I feel and wonder about remakes because 'it wasn't my true vision.'

Also, didn't they make the Alderran explosion "cooler" by adding rings, and forming the base of DorkStar's MCR theory?

That is one of the best South Park episodes. The invasion of normandy with walkie talkies, and the opening scene of south park with dewbacks and imperial walkers.
