While I agree with a few of the items on this list, like ending the sanctions on Cuba, I find most of this stuff to be unworkable.
http://www.greenparty.org/Platform.html
Maximum Income: Build into the progressive income tax a 100% tax on all income over ten times the minimum wage.
Hmm..no.
Affordable Housing: Expand rental and home ownership assistance, fair housing enforcement, public housing, and capital grants to non-profit developers of affordable housing until all people can obtain decent housing at no more than 25% of their income. Democratic community control of publicly funded housing programs.
Please define "decent" housing. No more than 25% of their income? That's a neat trick in the Bay Area where the demand for housing outstrips supply. How they gonna fix that?

is it just me or do some of their policies sound, well, slightly communist
eg.
Democratic Banking: Mandatory conversion of the 200 largest banks with 80% of all bank assets into democratic publicly-owned community banks. Financial and technical incentives and assistance for voluntary conversion of other privately-owned banks into publicly-owned community banks or consumer-owned credit unions.
sound familiar (late 1910s soviet union)
Strengthen Anti-Trust Enforcement: Require breakup of any firm with more than 10% market share unless it makes a compelling case every five years in a public regulatory proceeding that it serves the public interest to keep the firm intact.
less extensive, but the same again.
*imagines communist america* hehe.

Fortunately, America will never have a Green Party president.

Talk about a lack of free market enterpize...

When I read this list, I was amazed. Wow, these guys are really hard core socialists.
I also question how on Earth you are going to guarantee everyone a job?
If you tax all income above 100% , companies would not pay anyone that much and then there would be ZERO tax income from wages above 10x the minimum wage.
Oh, which reminds me, which minimum wage ? Federal, Califronia, or their proposed 26,000 year income?

Yeah, the Green Party and Ralph Nader are pretty far out there. But at least you know where they stand. They won't bullshit you like the Republicans and the Democrats.

No idea, but that will likely be inflationary. The whole concept of the NAIRU and all (yes, I realise that using NAIRU is not the most accurate indicator, especially for the boom of the late 1990s).

Exactly.

No idea. Whatever they set, probably

No, Nader spews a lot of lies and crap, especially about him being on the consumer's side..
Anyway, really the Green party's idea are arranged so that the only way they can be implemented is for the country to become hard-core socialist. However most of his moron followers and often Nader him self claim this is not so..
Screw everyone!

I'm going to this one.....there isn't a dime's difference
between Republicans and Democrats anymore.....
The DemoCRAPS will drive you off a cliff driving 80 MPH,
while the Repukes will drive you off the cliff doing the speed limit.
EDIT:
The difference between the D and R parties is that the Dims will get us
to a totally socialist Amerika in 15 years, while the Repukes will get us
to a totally socialist Amerika in 30 years.
Most "Mainstream" conservatives like George F. Will are all for big government
as long as THEIR guy is in the reins.....

Companies will abandon the United States. Do you really think GE, Boeing, etc. would put up with this nonsense?

Perhaps I was misleading, so I will try to better explain what I was errr... trying to explain. Basically I trying to convey that the Green Party, like the other 3rd parties, are so small that special interest groups don't finance them. Obviousily that could change if they got into power. But for now, they are more or less controlled by inside forces, and don't have to whore themselves to special interest groups for funds.

Maybe we should form the Warsies party and work to establish our own Galactic Empire.
Just think of the possibilities.

They wont get anywhere without heavy funding, and special interest groups are what supply that. Thats the only way to support party growth.

The one in ROTJ or the one in AotC? And when the emperor wins the White House, he can have this dark room where he can wither away!

Not necessarily. Special Interest funds sure do help, but you can succeed without them. For example, Jesse Ventura's mayorial and governertorial campaigns were financed completely with small individual donations.

Ian McDiarmid played Palpatine in both ROTJ and the new prequels. They just slapped a lot of makeup on him for ROTJ.
Anyway, I vote Libertarian in every election, for all the good it does.
