Is anyone out there significantly bothered by Forum Manager David's habit of making his views known by editing other peoples posts rather than by making posts of his own?

And if he does, I will skewer him on the Standard.

It doesn't bother me in the least. I wish he'd just post like everyone else but I could care less to tell the truth.

I would have his head on a pike on my front law if it where not for the cookie shipments he is bribing me with to look the other way

I just feel it feels odd [to] read these edited posts, and it is slighty childish.

I think it's annoying that he edits posts to keep his count at 2000.

It builds an air of mysterious ghost in the machine around him. That being said, I personally think it's silly.

Are people allowed to poke Jedi Knights? Especially ones 7 weeks old?

It doesn't really piss me off, but it is kind of irritating.

When they're supermods they can poke whoever they want and only Admiral Kanos can say otherwise.

I say it's uncalled for, but it's not offensive to anybody. It's just him playing around. I especially don't mind since he hasn't erdited any of my posts, or at least yet.

It hasn't happened in any of my posts yet, but if it did, I'd be unhappy. If you're that concerned about your post count, create a sock-puppet account and post with that.

He will learn the real meaning of pain if he does it again.

I had a dream the other day that I was really David's cousin and that I was visiting him when he left to do something and didn't log out, so I used his account to stick that NGE thread Stormie split and moved into the HOS.

I don't have a problem with the way we do things, here. We leave the message intact, but add something in a color specifically designed to allow people to tell who did the editing. The exception, of course, is the Hall of Shame, but frankly by the time a thread of yours is there you probably deserved it.

I have no problem with David editing posts. He is just foolin around and it looks like he'd rather edit posts than use a sock puppet to keep his post count at 2000.

You could always remove his modship, stopping him from editing other's posts.

I find it fucking stupid. He can get a "David 2000" or something account if he wants but the editing is annoying.

It's not like David isn't doing anything, he is currently acting as mod for the BotM since Verilon isn't around. I think that David gots Darth Wong's permission but that's just a wild guess. David 2000 would abe a good idea, gots 2000 posts plus this .

As thread starter, my own opinion on this is that posting via edits is childish, annoying, unethical, and an abuse of power. The chance of anything getting done about it is basically zero, but that's my view and I've always been one to pick losing causes.
