The battles are set to be variable paced. I may have a written scene where a well pplaced shot sis slowed down (OOC) and a thought flashes through a character's miind. Other times, the battle goes at a advanced pace, with little detail written.
My uni has two considerations because of tech...
1) Mecha make sense as limited space fighters, including vs cap ships.
2) Active dogfighting, even among small Defiant-like craft.
