Space War Challenge

Challenge: Write a short story trying to create a plot for the classic Atari 2600 game. I know it was based on Lensmen, supposedly, but make something original. I’m not even sure it can be interpreted as Lensmen. I once read an Asteroid fanfiction, and it was good enough for me to add to its universe. On Fanfiction.net, there are dozens of stories for Skifree, Minesweeper, et al. Add Spacewar into it.
