I am not much of a writer and I hope some one like this idea.
A Federation Tesk Force (of 14 ships and one starbase) moving to a new unclaimed star systems, but end up in the BattleTech dimension.
Time lines,
ST:TNG 5 years after Voyager return and all Federation starships have all update technology and with the phasecloak.
BattleTech One year before the Clans restart their invasion, and the failure of the interplanetary communication.
The Federation tesk force of 1 Sovereign, 2 Galaxies, 2 Nebulas, 4 Defiants, 3 Intrepids, 2 Olympics, 1 starbase and surport ships.
Twist: Admiral name is Victoria Cameron and the Captain of the Fleg ship is Natasha Kerensky.
How well the Federation handle, seeing a older Earth (31 century) with less technology them they have?
How well the Inner Sphere, the Periphery and the Clans behave with the Federation around?
How well the ComStar and the Word of Blake feel about the Federation and what technology they have?
Thank you for your time.

Well I'm working on my own ST-Btech crossover but am taking a very different approach, something along the lines of Blakes 7 I guess really, during the Clan Invasion.
Really you have to be VERY VERY careful you don't turn this into a wankfest for ST to roll over the Clans, ala a Mary Sue with you 'fixing' events....
Thank you for your time.
I'm not a rabid fan of either universe, though I do like both. However, since Star Trek is set a few centuries behind the 31st Century that BattleTech is set in, this could become quite interesting.
From some glances through information on both, it appears to me that the Star Trek universe is more advanced from the spaceship technologies arena, and BattleTech far outstrips Star Trek in terms of group and mech-based combat.
Perhaps a few initial scuffles, and then the two teaming up in a way could be fun. Imagine the Sovereign, Galaxies, and Nebulas dropping off a couple Warhammers and Balrogs to soften up a battlestation.

Mechs and ground combat mean very little when your foes have hideously superior space tech and can destroy you before you have a chance to make planet-fall. It would, more or less, be a one sided curb-stomp. Trek-Tech far outweighs anything that the folks in the BattleTech U. could bring (yes EVEN the Clans before you start). Besides, as far as a team up is concerned, could you imagine the language barriers thrown up because of Treknobabble and Clanspeak? But anyway, my thoughts aside, it's your idea and the worst that can happen is that no one will read it. Look at it this way, at least your idea post got a reply or two before drifting off into obscurity. My more plausible BattleTech/Planetside idea didn't even get one! Go for it, the worst they can do is say it sucks.
Yay! Midget Toss!
Only problem those mechs make big targets for shuttle strafing runs. Kind of like they did in voyager to the semi when they went back in time. Also they used a shuttle on a fortified base in Enterprise. Also we know from several episodes that they have a ground force but its never shown other than small detachments. We have never gotten to see a larger scale ground battle.rhoenix wrote:I'm not a rabid fan of either universe, though I do like both.
