Thought Experiment on something

Now in deep space, the Excelion was focused on its journey, heading first to the Vixi System. Its drives were pushing it through the Either, and it finally jumped into the Star System, the flash of the large battleship returning into realspace. “Admiral, All systems are Ok, and we have made it. Requesting permission to send a diplomatic vessel to meet up with the local planetary authorities.” “All right, send the diplomat ship, down to the surface. Trantor has little intel assets on this world, besides the fact that they are a bunch of hippies!”

Several laughs would be heard, as the Trantor vessel was silently launched towards the city of Salus. Suddenly, a strange military vessel took off from the moon, and several warning noises were heard over the Ships Proximity detector. It had appeared s some sort of military battlefortress. The Diplomatic Vessel was seized by a sort of energy, and the crew was not pleased, to say the least.

“Commander! We are being pulled… in… by a Tractor Beam…. Help US!” The ships com was jammed, as several volleys of nuclear-tipped missiles were launched from the moon, laser cannons were primed at the interstellar refugee transport, and heavy cruisers started to swarm from the dark side of the small satellite. Inside the transport, the situation seemed grim. The Admiral nodded, and said “Ander, William, you must go, and rescue the transport. I will show them the power of the Excelion! All lasers, missiles to bear. We must leave this planet, its too hostile for our tastes!” The Battle of the Refugee’s Absolute Defense had begun.

The Excelion was no regular tramp freighter, or a hastily built collection of ships, as most refugee ships were. This was a fully armored, 70 kilometer battleship, and its weapon collection was fierce. Its shape was more of an arrowhead, with the rear delta wing breaking off into winglets which had a sort of X shape. The Forward tip had smaller winglets breaking off of it, these nonchalant things a focusing point for its Faster Than Light drives. It did a portside turn, and a slight barrel roll, aligning its weapons to fire a direct salvo at the cruisers. The ships all broke off their formations, but the blasts from the 50 kilometers of lasers had enough power to vaporize the two hundred and fifty meter ships, the excess power then colliding with, and crashing into the moon’s shield system.

As this was happing, the two Buster Machine pilots nodded, as Ander focused on starting up the Combination Drive. Quietly, a theme song would play, as the two pilots focused on preparing to battle the frigate, which had captured the diplomats. As the “Gunbuster” class Mecha was formed, William Shouted “Ander, the Frigate’s trying to make the jump to Hyperspace!” Sure enough, the spacecraft was forming a wave pattern, and attempting to make the jump to Faster Than Light speeds.

The Gunbuster would have none of that, and As Ander focused, her control system following the movements of her boy, the Gunbuster drove towards the ship, the Pilot then shouting.. “Super… Izuma… Kick!” As the attack was shouted, the Gunbuster then kicked towards the Frigate, the kick impacting with the long stern section of the shuttle. It split in two, and the Diplomatic Ship, a sleek silver shuttle quickly used its own drives to speed towards the Excelion.
“Nice, That was easy..” Ander remarked, as the Planet then fired a blast of energy at the Excelion, the energy breaking through the Battleship’s light screen, ripping one of its FTL sensors, and causing several decks to suffer damages to the outer hull. “Admiral, we are not able to take that kind of firepower for long! We must Retreat!” The Officer sighed, as he ordered the retreat to Hyperspace “Make it so” he said, and as the Excelion left, The Gunbuster-De Connected, and made the jump to Hyperspace.

One would think the Excelion being used as an actual refugee ship would exclude Diebuster, no?
