Are there any Worldwar fanfics out there?

I figured this might be the place to ask. I really like Worldwar, yet I never see any fanfic, AU or otherwise for it, excpet for that really cool Worldwar set in the ST universe story that peetered out last year.

I was hoping for a modern day invasion...and see how long the lizards last...hopefully one with a active star wars program...

If not...a halo-verse crossover where the covenant does not exist will be nice...

Die lizards DIE...I hate the influence the lizards have on our society in those books.

I've heard that Dr. Turtledove discourages fanfic writing (ostensibly for copyright issues with the publishers, but IMO more to prevent people like Neo Confederates and Neo Nazis from pulling off all sort of undesirable garbage)
Turns out that a five way cross over between It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the Ali G Show, Fargo, Idiocracy and Veep is a lot less funny when you're actually living in it.
