Fiction pitch, commerce raiding

Post by Sea Skimmer »

I've got a lot of idea in my mind and a few words on my screen already, but I'd like opinions. What I'm considering writing is a piece of what might be called semi fan and part historical fiction. The plot is based heavily on the cruise of Commodore George Anson from 1740-1744. With a six, soon reduced to one ship squadron he set out from England to raid Spanish commerce along the Pacific coast of South America. He was determined to capture the treasure galleon from Manila, but needed up sailing completely around the world to get it and the contents of another before returning to England after four years at sea.

It however also incorporates aspects from many other commerce raiding cruises throughout history. The difference is, this hunt takes place in the vast expanse of space in a universe which draws on several other works of fiction and some of my own stuff for background.

So basically I'd like to know if this caught anyone's eye

I must have missed that one. Doesn’t look like much of a response. I’m now considering folding this storys plot into another universe I’m working on. If anythings going to happen with it will be this week I expect.
