Martok looked at the readouts glumly.This was one of the worse disastyers the Klingon fleet had suffered in many years .Over 300 ships and crews lost in a single action he knew he had to replace them but from where.The Iperial war reserve was almost ready but still it would take time for it to get ready even working around the clock as humans put it.

What was worse however was the Nova semmed to have acted as a signal and the Tholians used it to launch a third wave into klingon territory .Martok just sighed and drank from his cup "Is there any way things could get any worse?" he asked

In deep space near the Klingon ,Kzinti border he got his answer as a massive fleet struck into Klingon Territor .Nearly 400 Kzinti ships drove into the klingon Empire smashing the weakend Kzinti border fleet and its stations .There job simple really to make th most of the Klingon Empires fall from power.

Riker sat in his ready room and sighed.He had known Janeway since the academy ,when they had been rivals and now she was gone.His feelings about her were mixed when .

"Capatain Riker Starfleet Command has a message for you"

"Patch it through to me in here"

"Aye sir"

Soon the visage of Admiral Jellico was on the screen*"Riker you are ordered to procede at top speed to the Kzinti border and stay therre ....things are going south if you cathc my meaning"

"Why`s that sir?Whats happened now?"

"The Kzinti just declared war on the Klingons..shortly thereafter they invaded now we are hearing reports of Lyran and Hydran forces massing along there sides of the Klingon Empire....... Get there Capatain if the Kzinti decide to hi us as well ..."

"understood sir over and out"

Riker quickly walked onto the bridge "Helm taske us to the Kzinti border warp 8 ...the fans been hit"

It was a scene of total carnage at the Klingon Battlestation .the Kzinti ships fired at long range,there drones comming from nearly a lightyear away to shoer the station.The phasers it hd and the three defending ships were holding but not for long.

"Those honorless TARGS"the klingon commander yelled as the bombardnment continued"Attacking us while we are weak and not closing...Kzinti have no honor"

He could only watch as the Kzinti flotilla stayed out of range of his disruptors and fired drone after drone.He could easily see the large freighters they brought with them for resupply.He cursed when he heard the sensor officer exclaim.

"Commander Lyran warships inbound they should be here in a minute or so."

"Good Good today will be a good day for the Kzinti to die"

He gloated as the Lyran ships dove in to help his own beleagerd forces .His gloat turned to a cry of dismay as the Lyrans ESG began slamming his own ships and the station he was on .

The station jerked and shuddered as the Lyrans emptied there own disruptors into the hapless station .Soon it exploded ,the Lyran and Kzinti warshipos move one securing the system.

Picard was shaken he still couldnt believe it,the war with the Tholians was only 6 months old and allready the Klingons were on the ropes.The Kzinti and Lyrans had invaded the Klingon Empire,reports had the two ancient enemies actually working together ,.The Hydrans were also driving into Klingon space headed right for the Tholian advance.

The door chime beeped*come in "

A lieutenant walked in "sir we will arrive at the Tholian border in two more days.Also our torpedo payloads are at maximum and our damage control crews are fully ready"

"Very good Lieutenant , dismissed"

The lieutenant walked out as Picard sighed tiredly.Then he had a thought "Computer display the data on the attack on the Tholian station"

He watched the dat once more his eyes narrowed"freeze frame.Enlarge this here"

He looked at the construstion number on the ship and a chill ran up his spine.He was looking at his old ship the Constellation class cruiser USS Stargazer

"What the hell is going on?"

nicely done
good battle descriptions and i really can see the emotions of the characters in how you have described them.
I dont think anyone has dared to write a story including major characters that have involved an all out territorial conquor and expand campaign of this magnitude before against the major races of Star Trek before.
keep up the quality work

Jellicos face was red with anger "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING PICARD? No you may not go off galavanting after some damn lead.In case you have forgotten we are at War and are loosing ."

Picard looked at his superior "Sir if we can show the Tholians we werent."

"Picard" Jellico looks at him" what makes you think the Tholians will stop now??? Hell they are winning in six months the Klingon Empire will cease to exist and we may loose the southern half of the Federation iuf we dont fight back . Your orders are to rondevous with the 8th fleet and launch an immediate attack on the Tholian starbase in sector 2918 that is all Jellico out."

The screen returned to the familiar Seal of the Federation as Picard sat in his ready room in thought. he touched a button " Helm take us to coures 185 mk 213 speed warp 7

"Aye Aye Sir but thats the shipyard in sector 3212?? why are we going there sir?"

"Thats classified carry out my orders"

"Aye Aye Sir"

The masive ship turned in space and hurtled off

"The game is afoot"

Two figures cloaked in shadow watched the reports coming in both gloated over what they saw.

"This is working better than I first thought"

"It most certainly is sir" replied a female voice.

"A Klingon needs to leave enemies live so he may have future battles"" What utter nonesense .Now they learn what happenes when they are ganged up on"

" They always were idiots... hmmph they had most of the Empire backing them AND our help yet.. "

"Yet a Tin man threw a ...monkeys wrench into your plans my dear?"

"Do not mention that yellow skined ....walking computer to me"

laughter could be heard from the male "No problm .Now then what to do with our Federation ships?"

"I have an idea"

"You do? "a grin crossed his face "what is it?"

" A surprise for our friends at DS9"

"Oh what a wicked idea"

" yes we will close the wormhole once and for all .The Dominion may be quiet now but they can be a threat in the future"

"Good get to work on it"

"Yes sir"she replied as she turned and walked out of the room as the door opened the light hit her hair giving it a golden shine.

Riker hated waiting it got on his nerves alwatys did.He paced the bridge of the Titan restlessly as he waited there Akira class and two Valiant class ships escorted hiss War Galaxy class starship.

"Any word from the border posts Lieutenant?"

"No sir all is quiet in this sector"

Riker sighed

"Captain sit down thats an order"

Riker looked over at his wife and smiled

"Since when do you out rank me?"

"Since I can make your skinny ass sleep on the couch" Troi grinned at him.

Riker smiled back and finalty sat in the captains chair.

"Sir" the tactical officer called out" Incomming transmisson from Starfleet Command"

"On Screen"

"Aye Sir"

Jellicos face appeared "Riker I have new orders for you go to Starbase 3212 Immediately and take the task force with you"

"May I ask whyy sir?"

" Yes to place Captain Picard under arrest for dereliction of duty .Apparently he decided to ignore my direct order and he went galavanting off.Your mission is to bring him back for trial .Is that understood captain?"

"Aye sir "

"Good Jellico out"

Troi turned to Riker "Will are you going to arrest Jean Luc?"

"Not unless he has a damn good excuse.....he is a friend of mine so he will have the benefit of a doubt at least."

"All ships come about course headeing for Starbase 3212 all ahead warp 8 Engage"

The flortilla turned and hurtled off.

so Pacard has finally got some guts. Is good to see some insubordination for the sake of a hunch again. keep writing and kepp the suspenceful style. This is a verry well written story with character development in full glory for carachters who i have felt were always a little flat. Brilliant way to introduce the potential potagonist without letting us know who they are.

The Federations 8th fleet dove in on the attack. 250 Starships executed an all out attack on the Tholian starbase and for once the lessons learned from this war as well as the Dominion war were put to use.

Akiras stood off at long range and sent salvo after salvo of proximity warheaded torpedoesd into the Tholian ships. Defianst and other small ships preformed wolf pack tactis keeping the lighter Tholian ships busy as the heavies duked it out ,and ocassionally pouncing on an enemy heavy that was striken and had lost its escort.

Soverigns,War Galaxies with mk12 spinal phaser and War Nebulas moved in against there Tholian counterparts. Using techniques learned fighting the Borg th heavy ships concentrated there shots on the enemy cruisers and dreadnoughts.

Soon the Tholians were being pushed back .The torpedoed fired at long range tearing into there ranks decimating them before contact could be made. Soon the Starbase was fighting for its life as the Akiras and War Nebulas turned there torpedoes on the station freighterds came up and resuplied the ships on site .A trick learned from the Kzinti ,dangerous but it kept the ships fighting longer.

3 hours after it began the fight wwas over and the Federation push into Tholian space was well underway. A federation base replacing the Tholian counterpart .

Across space from the battle another fight was taking place one no less desperate .If lost one of the powers of the Alpha quadrant would be split in half by its enemies.

The Klingon ships ,few in number, had there backs to the wall and were desperate.Suicide attacks were the norm for striken vessels oftentimes overloading the engine before slamming into the Tholian cruisers .

The Tholians were hard pressed to keep up they supply lines extened supllies of fuel and ammo short they did the best they could.Quantity has a quality Stalin is quoted as saying and quantity was winning the day for the Tholians .

As the last Klingon ships fell a new fleet enterd the system Hydran warships arrived . Both Fleets faced one another when a shot lanced from the Hydran fleet at the Tholian ships. As they say at that moment all Hell decided to break loose.
