Nice work so far Sapphire, but it seems like you fast forward through dialogue. Paris' orders for example. if you didn't want to write a conversation, why bring it in, he seems a little casual with the whole "Head on over to that place and check out the thing because it could be those guys. I got sweet bottle a jack with my name on it so I'm out." ::finger guns.::

Maybe give Picard a few lines, some speculation about who is in the area and why we don't think its them, etc.

MrCia.. is there any reason you're doing this here and not in the star trek section? You could easily open your own thread on the topic of "kinetic weapons and navigational shields"

"Since when is "the west" a nation?"-Styphon
"ACORN= Cobra obviously." AMT
This topic is... oh Village Idiot. Carry on then.--Havok

MrCIA wrote:It does not matter how much energy the projectile has since the navigational deflector does not actually stop it. The deflector is described as applying a small force to the oncoming object causing a vector change and a miss. You have yourself described the projectiles to be 'dumb', no more than a simple dart of heavy metal lacking any systems with which to counter the forces applied by the deflector. Therefore the navigational deflector would have no problem working magnificently against kinetic weapons within its limitations. A photon torpedo on the other had is a completely active system that can compensate for external influences.
Yes this is true, within the limitations. However the torpedoes have never been shown to be even resisting the navigational deflector let alone be deflected by it. As for the active defense I have never seen anything that the torpedo can do anything more than try turn back onto target. Which if the navigational deflector works as believed then the torpedo would be bouncing back and forth trying to compensate for the interference. As I have said before this hasn't been seen so I can't assume it is in the capabilities of the deflector over the distances seen.
MrCIA wrote: And according to your own data from the thread you referred to in the beginning of this story the mass of the projectile from a 5 inch railgun was 30kg. To generate a guaranteed miss with 3 seconds to impact, the Starfleet ship would have to have at least 600 meters clearance from center of profile (Overkill, but it helps my point). Meaning that they would have to impart a velocity of 200 m/s to the projectile at 1 lightsecond. The kinetic energy of a 30Kg mass moving at 200 m/s is 6E6J. Multiply that number with whatever efficiency number you wish and you have the power requirements for the navigational deflector to protect the Federation vessel. Yet again within it's own limitations.
Well I will admit that your model of the math involved works much more accurately to how the navigational deflector is supposed to work then Drakes.

I never said that the navigational deflector couldn't divert some of the lighter weight projectiles that are DIRECTLY IN FRONT but Drake seems to go on like it defends against all projectiles no matter what the mass or the direction.

If anyone else wants to discuss the issue of projectiles and the navigational deflector please do in the already existing KE weapons thread in the ST forum linked in the OP.
You will see the tears of time.

It is not supposed to be fast forwarded the intent was to be catching the tail end of a conversation yet still getting the pertinent information.

I thought I had Picard speculating later in the chapter. *shrugs* oh well there will be more speculation and a lot more questions when they get to the wreck site. heh heh heh. 8)

Chapter five is all ready and set to go. Thank you to everyone who has helped my writing, this is the first chapter that has fully benefited from your suggestions. And without ado, chapter five.

The tempest always brings destruction but sometimes it brings hope of renewal.

Ch.5

Sigma Terani System
Year of Kamihito 0096.217
Shuttlebay of the Frigate Temphora Noriade

For any being shaped like a 1.5 meter tall bipedal fox, the greatest complaint about an EVA mission is trying to fit your tails into the tail pocket of the spacesuit. They were always uncomfortable, restricting, and somewhat embarrassing. For a species that has its society stratified by age as shown by the number of tails they possess, the idea of wedging all of them in the single large tail pocket of the spacesuits and looking like young juvies again is mortifying to some. So it is no surprise that the Fuku-Taicho Mur’aqsh was cursing up a storm in the shuttlebay of the Temphora Noriade.

“Damn the designer of these things to Biollante’s bowels! If I ever have to get into one of these ridiculous contraptions again it will be too soon!” Quiet snickering was heard from somewhere in the crowd of junior officers and non-coms near the shuttle. “Oh shut up you miserable maggots, or I’ll have you stuck outside painting the hull until the reign of the next emperor!” After that the entire platoon boarded the shuttle.

The Devine Mercy class search and rescue shuttle had seen service to the Senwa Empire for over eighty years. With regular updates was still the finest SAR shuttle in the empire, but even this aerodynamically elegant craft was having difficulty scanning and navigating through the tangled debris field of the Bonchune. After settling in a close orbit near the field the shuttle depressurized its airlock and over forty experienced “vacuum-stompers” exited the craft.

Two hours later.

“Fuku-Taicho, we have found what we believe to be a computer core however it appears to be damaged beyond repair.” “Understood, bring what you can of it perhaps the experts back at the fleet can perform an in depth analysis and glean some information from the shattered remains.”

After returning to the ship Mur’aqsh began his report of the debris recovered. “Commander we have recovered over five tonnes of metallurgical samples, approximately three dozen roughly intact bodies of over a half dozen different species, a partially intact computer core, and over eight tonnes of miscellaneous items and tech examples.

“Anything unusual in that rather large amount of miscellaneous goods?” Commander D’urfila said while narrowing her eyes.

Mur’aqsh coughed in embarrassment. “Yes Milady, there were an unusual number of what appear to be coffins in the debris. Several hundred if the scanning team’s readings are accurate. We have brought as many of them aboard as there are bodies. Just in case they are required by their species mourning traditions.”

“That many coffins sounds extremely bizarre to me, are you sure that is what they are for?” Queried D’urfila.

“That is the only thing we can think of until the analysis is complete Milady. The objects in question are just the right size to fit an individual of their species’ size. There hasn’t been any detection of any known warhead material within. If it were a weapon it could not contain an engine of sufficient capability to be of any real use other then as a bomb or a mine.” Grumbled Mur’aqsh.

“Strange… I guess that we will have to wait for the analysis of the debris back at the fleet.” She said as she dialled the bridge “Bridge, have the ship make ready for the jump back to the fleet. We have some packages to deliver.”

They are so doomed
Actually they are fine. Photon torpedoes are inert until they are placed in the launcher and the anti-mater is transfered into them. Unless they took the torpedoes straight out of the launcher, then they are screwed.
As it stands it sounds like they have a number of unarmed photon torpedoes they have no way of arming. They might be useful for the included detrioum(sp?) block used to feed the explosion. Also getting their hands on single shot warp engines might actually be useful for these guys.

I have a question for the fans of the fic. Do you want me to put out the stat files for the Senwa craft and equipment I come up with? If so do you want it put in this thread or for me to make a new thread for them?

A fanfic thread would seem the logical place to post any fluff material.

My personal general preference is for fluff and stat files to be posted within the story thread unless it would be really unwieldy to do so, or it included information for multiple stories in a series. This story is only at two pages and is currently a standalone so putting it here would be fine.

Ch.6

Alpha Quadrant, Deep Space enroot to Sigma Terani System
August 27, 2367
Captain’s Ready Room post meeting

“I can’t believe she is gone until I see a body… I just can’t.” Beverly muttered on the verge of tears. “Marissa is too much of a survivor to die that easily.”

“I know Beverly, she was your closest friend and confidant during the academy. It is never easy to suffer the pain of not knowing whether the ones you love are dead or alive.” Picard said gently trying his best to comfort his dear friend. “Either way in a few hours we will know. Why don’t you get sickbay ready. If something has happened to the Bonchune then there will likely be casualties. If the worst has happened then we may need the facilities for our own personnel soon unfortunately.”

“All right Jean-Luc, maybe it will keep my mind off Marissa.” Beverly got up to go then halted suddenly and turned back to Picard slowly. Then darkly saying “If something has happened to her then promise me…” She appeared to be almost shaking with suppressed emotion “Promise me that we will find who ever did this.”

“You have my word on that.” Picard solemnly said.

With that Beverly nodded her head and left, the emotion still lingering in the room. Picard sighed, the weight of the world seeming to be upon his shoulders.

Bridge Same Time

“Data what was the Bonchune’s assigned mission?” Riker asked, eager for anything to fill the void of silence that had fallen over the bridge crew since the meeting.

“Sir, the Bonchune was assigned to patrol sectors 241 through 253 near the Romulan Neutral Zone. Their task was to provide protection and support to the smaller colonies in the region.” Data stated in his usual encyclopaedic manner. “Before the diversion to chase the unknown sensor contact they were assisting the Beta Andoni System contain an outbreak of terellian flu. They were approximately one week away from the scheduled end of their deployment and were then to head to the Antares IV dry-dock facility for crew rotation, deep maintenance, and upgrades.”

Riker grimaced at that thought. “Almost a week away from going home and taking shore leave. Damn, those poor people…”

“Don’t loose hope for those people Will.” Said Troi trying to comfort Riker. “They might just be out of contact.”

“Deanna, I want to believe you, but how many times have we been in a situation like this? Going after an unknown after the last transmissions were silenced mid transmission. We have seen far to many times were the ship was lost before we could even hope to get there.” At this point Riker wanted to tell her to not be naïve but that would be crass. No modern federation gentleman would be so rude to another civilised person. No matter if it would be a true statement or not.

Troi was confused. Normally her words of support helped make others feel even a little bit better, but right now Will was feeling even more worried and uncomfortable than before. If she didn’t know any better he was even feeling what might be irritation, but for the life of her she couldn’t understand why that would be.

I am thankful for the responses to the question of fluff files, Mayabird in particular for pointing out that there is plenty of room here in this thread.

Personally I was hopeing to get a few more opinions on whether I should include the files or not, :( but I figure what the hell why not.
So without further ado the first stat file the senwa bomber.

Stat files: Senwa Nodachi Bomber

Image

Length: 62.72m

Height: 3.63m

Wingspan: 43.97m

Power Plant: Tsumikizawa TSU-283-E Enhanced Fusion Reactor

Engines: 4x Tsumikizawa FF-2832-C Hayabusa Kai Fusion turbines

Defences: 1m - 0.5m thick Protegium VII armour plate
Vortex III ECM/ECCM system
Anti-Beam coatings
Vortex Type II Kai Electromagnetic Barrier System

Weapons: 2 Weapon bays capable of loads up to 180 metric tons of weapons/equipment each.

Standard Weapon load outs

Anti-Ship: 8 Tetsubo II series multi-purpose torpedoes (4 in each bay) OR 8 Tetsubo III KE torpedoes

Anti-Fighter: 32 (16 in each bay) MPM-3 Swallowtail multi-purpose missiles

Anti-surface: Up to 360 metric tons of Bombs or Air to Ground missiles

Reconnaissance: A/N-2826 Neko Eyes Tachyon Sensor and multi-spectral Radar System
Up to 360 metric tons of senor and analysis equipment

The Senwa Bomber concept was developed during the first hostile encounter with other species over 500 years ago. Since then the concept of a multi-purpose combined space to space, space to ground bomber has been refined continuously. Gradually becoming more and more effective against space and ground targets. Current models including the premier frontline bomber the Nodachi are capable of being deployed from across a solar system, destroying protecting spacecraft, entering the atmosphere to destroy ground targets, and still have enough endurance to return to the carrier craft.

The Nodachi has held the position of most effective aerospace bomber since it first came off the production line over 50 years ago. The key to the Nodachi’s success lays in its versatility. The Nodachi is capable of mounting every known weapon smaller than a capital scale rail weapon. For instance they are capable of being loaded up for a torpedo bombing run on a starship returning and then being loaded up for a precision strike on a ground target. From nuke strikes to carpet bombing there is almost no opponent the Nodachi can not strike.

Even if the enormous versatility in ordnance was not enough there are several specialized models further increasing the Nodachi’s value. For example the Nodachi Sigma version is a long range enhanced stealth platform. It sacrificed half of the ordinance loadout with a miniature Shin’bi IV Kai wormhole jump drive. This gives it a range of over 120 light years per jump enabling deep stealth strikes into enemy territory. Also the ordinance can be swapped out for sensor equipment making the Nodachi Sigma an incredibly efficient stealth reconnaissance platform. However this improvement in capability is not without a significant increase in cost both in resources and financially, this means that the impressive Sigma variant is usually restricted to elite squadrons and special forces.

Other specialised models include the Nodachi Ashigaru and the Tessen. The Nodachi Ashigaru is modified from the normal form to be a troop dropship capable of delivering over one hundred soldiers into battle. However normally the Ashigaru transports eighty soldiers (two platoons worth) and all their equipment and light vehicles.

The Tessen is a specially designed AWACS/C3 craft meant to monitor and control events on the ground or in space. The Tessen is capable of actively monitoring and commanding over 10,000 separate units ranging from an individual platoon or squad to a planetary assault frigate.

As always I am happy to entertain and hear your thoughts and opinions on my works.

Just a short chapter to finish the last setup and drama section. I promise there will be action in the next chapter. I swear really!

Ch.7

Planet VII Sigma Ionis System
Time Index 28548318

We are eternally patient. We are the survivors intended in plan 8315b. We were placed here with the intent of constructing a mid range support facility intended to create an exit portal for the transwarp conduits intended to be seeded throughout the Alpha Quadrant over the next ten years. This would enable us to accelerate our plans for the Alpha Quadrant over a factor of ten thousand. However, the craft that brought us earlier this year was destroyed and our secondary plan has gone into effect.

The facility will be expanded and a new ship construction facility will be built. When a replacement craft has been built we will travel to other systems and worlds and acquire all the resources we require to begin expanding. This process will continue until the Alpha Quadrant is under our control.

After control has been established further expansion of resources will be directed toward the Delta Quadrant. This will enable us to link up with our other resources in the Delta Quadrant, encircling species 2102 enabling their acquisition. From there further expansion toward the Beta and Gamma Quadrants. Eventually all will adapt to service us, resistance is futile we are the Borg.

Finally a new chapter and with action this time! Enjoy.

Ch.8

Approaching the Sigma Terani System
August 27, 2367
Bridge of the U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC 1701-D)

It had been an emotionally exhausting few hours before meeting up with the Zukov and the Charleston. The arrival of the Excelsior and Ambassador Class ships began to buoy up the spirits of the crew. Surely there was nothing that this group of ships could not handle. Even Picard began to feel less of the ominous feeling that he felt before.

The subspace comms were still silent save for the occasional call for the Bonchune as the group passed into the outer reaches of the Sigma Terani system. The sensors of all three ships were set to full power and the maximum sensitivity possible. All three ships were desperately searching as carefully as they can desperately reaching out for some sign.

“Mr. Data is there any indication of the Bonchune yet?” Queried Picard, desperate to keep as much of his unease out of his voice as possible.

“Not yet Sir. The systems star produces an inordinate amount of electromagnetic radiation that is interfering with our scans. At the current rate of scan I estimate it will take over six hours and fifty-two minuets to complete the scan of the system.” Data stated in his usual manner.

“Tell the Zukov and the Charleston to skip sectors 283.23 through 408.21. If the Bonchune had been without engines then it would have already crashed into those planetary gravity wells by now.” Picard ordered.

“Yes, Sir. Estimated scan completion is now four hours and 29 minuets.” Data Calculated.

20 minuets later

“Sir! We are picking up a significant power signature and a large amount of metal at 203 mark 18.” Stated Lieutenant Tomino.

“Set a course and inform the other ships we may have just found the Bonchune.”

“Aye, Sir. Zukov and Charleston report they are heading to our location and will be here within 5 minuets.”

Data chimed in “Captain there is no sign of any active federation signals coming from that location. I am however detecting an inordinate amount of tachyon radiation coming from the same location.”

“Tachyon radiation Mr. Data?”

“Yes sir. The closer we get to the source the stronger the radiation is becoming.”

“Strange very strange what could be causing tachyonic radiation out here?”

“Unknown Sir, however as we approach I am finally able to get a good reading on the power source.”

“Oh?”

“Yes Sir. It appears to be fusion based in nature but at a level far greater than any known fusion generator. The energy readings seem to indicate an output far exceeding our own warp core.”

Riker was shocked to hear this “That’s impossible! We have over a dozen fusion reactors in the impulse system and their combined output isn’t even a fraction of the warp core.”

Data was similarly dumbfounded “I am at a loss to explain the discrepancy, Sir.”

“If that is the case then whatever it is couldn’t possibly be the Bonchune.”

Picard was confused but didn’t let it show. He desperately wanted more information.

In later years he reflected that at this point he should have been more careful for what he wished for.

“Sir, I am detecting an additional source of refined metal approximately 1500 kilometres from the original detected source. We are now entering visual range.”

“On screen. Magnify.”

What appeared on screen astounded Picard. It was almost as if someone had made a metal brick and strapped incredibly large engines to the back. He couldn’t even fathom how it had gotten this far out into space. There were no inhabited planets in this system and there were no signs of any warp nacelles or any warp field at all if the sensor report he was reading over Data’s shoulder was correct.

Unfortunately his worst fears were realised as he took in what he saw on the screen. Not far away from the unknown ship was a large debris field. Although it had been thoroughly fragmented and otherwise nearly unidentifiable, a large chunk of an aft section of nacelle still clearly displayed the registry number of the Bonchune.

The fate of the ship they had come to hopefully save lay bare on the screen for everyone to see. There seemed to be scarcely a piece larger than a shuttlepod, and most seemed to be much smaller. There was little question of survivors given how fragmented the Bonchune was.

The only questions now in how and whom.

“Mr. Data what can the sensors tell us about what happened to the Bonchune and about our unknown friend.”

“The sensors detect no detectable energy weapon signatures nor any detectable explosive signatures. The Bonchune seems to have suffered a warp core breach however the pattern of debris suggests that it had been severely structurally weakened before the rupture.”

“Structurally weakened? How?”

“Given the lack of weapon signatures I would surmise a physical impact of some kind.”

“You mean to tell me that the Bonchune was hit by something then exploded?”

“Yes Sir.”

This really confused Picard as any normal asteroid impact of the size necessary to do that amount of damage would be easily detectable from far off and just as easily avoided. It couldn’t be weapons fire as projectile weapons had long been discarded in favour of the more powerful energy weapons that have dominated the battlefield for centuries.

“What about the unknown ship Mr. Data?”

“Sensors are having trouble getting an accurate reading on the craft as its hull seems to comprise an extremely dense and unknown alloy. The thickness of which exceeds several meters and resists a deeper scan penetration. However I am able to ascertain that the ship is 550 meters long and is the source of both the tachyon radiation and the fusion power source detected earlier.”

Given the suspicious and strange nature of the ship, Picard felt that the mystery of exactly what happened to the Bonchune would be answered with the enigma of the unknown ship.
Unfortunately this seemed to be the worst kind of first contact… at the scene of bloodshed. Picard was just glad that it wasn’t Captain Enrico of the Charleston making contact. He would have fired on the unknown already or at least made threats.

“Open haling frequencies.”

“Hailing frequencies open sir.”

“This Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the U.S.S. Enterprise representing the United Federation of Planets. Identify yourselves immediately and state your business in our space.”

. .. … …..
“I am getting no response sir.”

‘Lets try this one more time’ thought Picard.

“Identify yourselves immediately. If you do not reply then we will take your presence here as an act of aggression.”

“Still no response sir.”

“Can they receive us Mr. Data?”

“Unknown, I have detected no subspace emission of any kind nor is there any discernable subspace receiving unit on the hull. However given our sensors inability to penetrate their hull there remains the possibility of an undetected receiver within the hull. The Charleston is arriving sir.”

“Maybe they will more talkat…”

“Sir the unknown ship’s power reading has increased dramatically! It is over twice the maximum power output of the Enterprise and rising.”

“How? That is not possible.”

“The Charleston is firing on the unknown vessel!” Worf bellowed

“NO! Enrico you fool!”

In space the phaser fire from the approaching Charleston tore an angry red gash into the forward armour. Several photon torpedoes were launched seeking to end the existence of the unknown transgressor.

However the vessels existence did not end in the expected fiery anti-matter explosion. To the members of the federation witnessing the enfolding horror the torpedoes seemed to disintegrate after coming within a few kilometres of the vessel. After the failed volley a large area of the aft section seemed to explode from the ship even though it had not been struck. Bizarrely the hull fragments seemed to move forward from the aft section interposing themselves between the unknown vessel and the federation ships.

As the vessel turned toward the Charleston its axial main gun spoke for the first time. The round skipped off the upper saucer section of the Enterprise taking a large section of phaser strip and outer hull.

As Picard gaped wondering why it had gone all wrong from the beginning he heard Riker yell out for red alert and for shields. ‘Damn that man! When this is over I will have him court-marshalled!’ Bile rising in the Captain he ordered.

“Arm phasers and photon torpedoes target the enemy vessels engines and weapons. Try to disable her.”

The Charleston found itself manoeuvring to avoid the rail gun rounds fired from the enemy ship. Bobbing and weaving as much as the old Excelsior’s frame could handle the Charleston seemed to be able to avoid the hits while making strafing runs on the enemy almost with impunity. Then the Enterprise let loose a volley of its own only to impact on the orbiting hull pieces that seemed to interpose themselves between the attack and the ship they protected.

Several smaller boxes on the enemy ship turned toward the Enterprise and let loose an answering volley of there own. Thankfully they missed as the flagship got underway.

The Enterprise swooped in as gracefully as a ship of her size could and began to rapid fire her undamaged phaser banks as fast as Worf could get them to fire. Most merely destroyed the orbiting hull defences yet a few bit deep into the real armour of the enemy ship leaving red lines of partially melted outer armour.

Adding to frenzy the recently arrived Zukov tore away more and more of the orbiting defences leaving great sections of the main hull exposed to federation fire.

Several long cylinders were launched outwards from side mounted installations accelerating faster than expected they passed full impulse as they raced toward the Charleston. However the crew was not caught unaware as the Charleston began to rapid fire her phasers destroying missile after missile, unfortunately there were too many to destroy them all as two 50 megaton nuclear explosions tore into her shields and irradiated large sections of her outer hull. The proud Charleston tried to turn about to answer the savaging it had received, however it was not to be as the axial main gun spoke once more severing the Charleston in two. The enemy was not finished with her yet as the other turreted weapons spoke in turn devastating the surviving pieces of the Charleston and piercing her main anti-matter storage tanks. The resulting explosion ensured that there would be few survivors from the doomed vessel.

From his Captains chair Picard could see the situations decent into hell. He watched in horror as over seven hundred lives were snuffed out. The suffering cried out to him and he looked to Worf to answer those cries. No words really needed to be spoken, Worf knew what his captain wanted. However the cold monotone he heard from his captain chilled his Klingon spine. He was certain of one thing… he never wanted to hear his captain like that again.

“Mr. Worf.”

“Aye, Sir”

The Enterprise launched a full alpha strike upon the aft end of the enemy ship destroying the remaining orbiting defenses and ripping into the hull savagely. Deep phaser strikes melted and weakened the rear armour before a surviving photon detonated against the hull tearing a massive hole in the aft armour before damaging the engines. Follow up strikes on the same spot from the Zukov ensured that three of the four engines never worked again. Exploding in a spectacular manner engine number 3 detonated outward further devastating the aft hull.

Slowed to a crawl the enemy ship received pounding after pounding large sections of armour were destroyed but the enemy ship refused to give in. The remaining turrets pounded into the Zukov damaging her maneuvering engines and punching holes in her saucer. The enemy then turned toward the Zukov mustering all its strength driving its remaining engine well beyond any acceptable limit rushing on a collision course with the Zukov.

Captain Renault chuckled to himself. “If they want to play chicken we can oblige them. At such a slow speed we can easily manoeuvre around a ramming attack that slow and pathetic. Fire all phasers!”

Following the orders of her captain the Zukov began to rip the forward hull apart with repeated phaser strikes tearing into the armour and ripping into the interior exposing sections out into space. Fires were consuming the enemy ship, long trails of burning atmosphere leaked from the ship like blood from a wounded bull charging a matador. Several turrets were destroyed leaking atmosphere and liquefied hull into the black. It was obvious that this was its last stand.

As the Zukov maneuvered away to avoid a collision and sweep in behind to continue savaging the aft section with the Enterprise. The impossible occurred.

If Commander Data was human he would have been shocked and horrified at what his instruments were telling him.

“Sir I am reading a massive spatial distortion forming right in front of the Zukov.”

“What?! Warn the Zukov quickly!”

“It’s too late Sir.”

The bridge crew watched in horror as their worst fears were realized.
The escaping Zukov confident in the dodging of the enemy warship didn’t realize that the intent was never to physically collide with them. Time and space were torn asunder as the mighty engines of the enemy ship ripped open a wormhole inside the Zukov. Tidal shearing forces tore apart the poor Ambassador class ship ripping the Zukov into fragments and smaller pieces revealing a golden-white portal. The Enterprise unable to do anything to prevent the enemy from escaping through the gateway formed by the death of the Zukov.

Picard stood gaping at the devastation wrought in this system. He knew in the depths of his soul that even though he had ensured that the enemy warship would never fight again, the cost was truly terrible to behold. What scared him even more is the absolute certainty that the federation would now be at war with whomever owned that ship.

“Number One begin searching the wreckage for any survivors and tell sickbay that they have incoming. I’ll be in my ready room.”

Hopefully it was worth the wait. As always comments, constructive criticism, and opinions are always welcome.
You will see the tears of time.

I full heartedly second that.
This story is truly great.
I can't wait to see what you have them do next.
It has become clear to me in the previous days that any attempts at reconciliation and explanation with the community here has failed. I have tried my best. I really have. I pored my heart out trying. But it was all for nothing.

You win. There, I have said it.

Now there is only one thing left to do. Let us see if I can sum up the strength needed to end things once and for all.
