Would anyone care if I just used terms that apply to Real life. Like cussing, Should I just use regular cussing or what.

What exactly is going to be the story? Are they going to infiltrate and Imperial station, or what? and is the fanfic going to be centered around war or personal development of each character? Any way you go it should go well.

If you seen Band of Brothers, it will be kinda like that. They will just be fighting on the front lines. They jump in with repulsors.

At this point you would probably be better off thinking more important things than small, unimportant details like the blaster pistol type. Yes, correct equipment and stuff like that helps to establish the Star Wars feel, but your story would benefit a lot more from well-developed characters and interesting storyline. And hey, if there are no units in canon/official Star Wars universe that can be compared to airborne troops of our world, why not make up such a group?
