I was wondering what would happen if you took these four characters from BTVS and switched out there normal costumes for the Halloween episode. [For the purposes of this idea, I'm putting Faith into the episode and she is The Slayer already simply because I need her there].

This is a story idea, but its also quite uber and wankish, and I do know that right off the start [so don't point that out please] but its also a semi-comedy fic with the sheer amount of damage this group could cause.

After the Halloween spell ends they get to keep all the powers, equipment, abilities, skills, knowledge, and starships that go with the costumes.

To make the idea even more insane here is the minimum equipment that gets created, copied, or pulled from their respective universes thanks to the spell.

1. One Grey Knight Battlebarge with all the normal equipment and technical files. No crew.

2. One Fifth Imperium parasite battleship with all normal equipment and technical files. No crew.

3. One Alpha Synth, copy of Megerea, linked to Faith with all the equipment and technical files. No crew since Alicia DeVries was the only crew to begin with.

4. Each character gets all the normal weapons, equipment, and armor that their fictional costume usually wore at the time of the spell. Namely Grey Knight gets his Aegis armor, force weapon, SM style internal implants. Master Chief gets his armor and Cortana and so on.

5. Cortana at the time of her copying, has the full Forerunner download inside her databanks.


As part of the OP, these four are then required to remove themselves from the BTVS universe because they will upset the balance too heavily to the side of Light.

They are required to either find a new home universe where they can settle, or they can choose to travel the multiverse and have as much fun as they can.

To make live easier for themselves, and to keep everyone in one place they choose to dock the Parasite Battleship and Megerea inside the Battlebarge and begin intergrating all the technological marvels of all four universes into their ships.


What kind of damage and chaos could this group cause if they entered these universes? What would people's reactions to them be?

Ships: The battlebarge and battleship are fucking useless sans crew. So they get to use the Alpha Synth whatever as their ship.

Universe: 40k - Bad odds here. Really bad odds. They get eaten/Chaos'd/vaporized/killed painfully after they arrive.

SG-1 - Depends on where/when they arrive. They could be useless, they could help a bit. They could get killed quickly and painfully.

Star Wars - Depends on when/where/how they arrive. They could be vaporized in seconds. Not sure what good they'd be able to do.

oBSG - Depends on Alpha Synth calcs. oBSG calcs go IIRC to Star Wars levels. They might be of use, they might not.

nBSG - Probably useful. Alpha Synth is probably better than all ships we've seen so far. So the Colonials get some help.

Star Trek - Depends on where they arrive. They'll probably join the Federation as of TOS, maybe in TNG, they'll help the Maquis in DS9, in VOY, well, hah. They might get Borged, dunno. ENT I have no clue about.

Halo - They get thrown into combat for the UNSC. They die after some Angsty action.

B5 - Depends on Alpha Synth calcs. They might help out. They might not.

I don't know about the others.

I forsee problems already, when the timeline starts to flub, things might not end very well...

This type of idea has been done before, and Xander dressing up as the chief is been done specifically at least 3 times to my knowledge. None have been able to pull it off.

And that is not only a problem, it's unpresidented. Xander keeping his memories as a soldier is the exception, not the rule. Larry did not gain Pirate Memories as far as we know, nor did Willow keep ghost powers.

Thousands of Slayers across the world haven't tipped the balances heavily in favor of the light, least according to Joss' most recent interviews.

They are required to either find a new home universe where they can settle, or they can choose to travel the multiverse and have as much fun as they can.

I'm going to save you the trouble and cut the fat from this story by introducing you to "The Exiles". If you want to have these enhanced, altrernate takes on the characters hoping dimensions: give them a better reason (IE: Unhinged from Time) and relate that reason to the need for the alternates (IE: Each one is a different encarnation).

Sorry if I sound a little harsh, but after several years of reading fanfics, I have only encountered one really good Halloween crossover story--and that did so well largely because it took the perspective of the person being "copied" instead of the person "copying".

When writing, you only really get one "big buy", otherwise the audience will get confused and disinterested.
