Another story is Starcrossed, where character relationships alone is good enough to attract viewers and fans.

And that is one of the few stories that can give you a warm and fuzzy feeling, simply by reading the joyful drama alone.

That is just *epic fail* on my part, I'll have to dial up the angst a hell of a lot over the next few chapters...

Please don't. The only WAFFy part (IMO) was the Dance. You're doing great as is. Please don't change the fic because you're writing in a fandom where mentally balanced is considered WAFFy.
