The EUFic Forum

Many of you probably remember the discussion about an improved SWEU - effectively an EUFic, to be for Star Wars what DrakaFic was for Draka - some of us had last fall. For others, this might be news. Anyway, Illuminatus Primus, Darth Raptor, and this author have continued to think about this idea, and now we have seen a major breakthrough. The great MKSheppard has graciously agreed to host an EUFic Forum off his Alternate Wars site, a place to discuss and develop not only our project, but other Star Wars althistory, fan fiction, "mirror universes" and similar genres as well. We of the EUFic Committee invite all members with an interest in EUFic or these topics in general to join us and participate in this creative discussion.

For those new to the idea of EUFic, it is a comprehensive effort to rationalise, "coherentise" and de-bug the Star Wars Expanded Universe from the original trilogy era and up towards the end of the Bantam continuity, producing an improved overall history that hopefully will still retain the many good story points that were made in this era while being free of the wank, minimalism and general nonsense that runs rampant throughout much of the canonical EU. In the longer term, we also have plans for producing complete rewrites of the prequel-era trilogy and its EU, as well as the post-Bantam stories. For more information, see our FAQ at the Forum.

The community is not limited to just EUFic, rather - SW and other SF fic unconstrained by strict adhere to official canon and continuity. A more "what if" fic sphere embodied by the Mirror Universe thread in PSW and our old threads. I welcome you to contribute if you can and would like to. We're eager for participation and new ideas. We finally got a community off the ground, and are ready to move forward with several months of discussion and ideas and some worldbuilding and fic drafting. We'll post our story concepts, drafts, essays-in-progress, and various ideas as the community expands.
