They came without warning, and struck without resistance. For years they had been gathering informatio and not once had they been discovered. When the time came for the invasion, it was they who were prepared and their enemies completely off guard. The blitzkrieg of the Galactic Empire upon the Alpha Quadrant will never be forgotten so long as there are sentinent beings in the galaxy. In only thirty six hours the Empire had taken significant amounts of territory from every significant power it had faced. What surprised many though, was the almost complete annhilation of the United Federation of Planets. For over 400 years the Federation had asserted itself and increased its influence until it had become the most influential and powerful government in the quadrant. it's destruction was seen by many as the beginning of the end.
After the first attack at Vulcan and the disastrous Battle of Earth, the Federation was reduced to thirteen systems out of one hundred and fifty. The provisonal capital was established at Bajor and Jean Luc Picard became Fleet Commander of nearly one hundred ships. As the Empire moved on in its campaigns against the Klingons and Romulans, the Federal Remnantbecame one of several lesser powers who began fortifying their systems rather than taking the war to the Empire. It would only be a matter of time before the Empire refocused attention on the Remnant, and the nearby Cardassian and Breen powers.
One group however, had almost entirely escaped Imperial notice. The Ferengi Alliance held little in the way of territory, for they derived their power from their vast financial network and their economic treaties with other civilizations. Many Ferengi citizens had felt that they would be safe, and that the homeworld of Ferenginar would never suffer the same fates as Vulcan, Q'o'nos, and Betazed. Their economic potential for the Empire would undoubtedly guarantee their safety.
Unfortunately for those secure in their beliefs, a set of bizarre circumstances would shatter that fragile peace while at the same time hastening the destruction of the Federal Remnant. The son of the Ferengi Grand Nagus is also the first Ferengi to becomea Starfleet officer. Nog, formerly an ensign aboard Deep Space Nine who served with distinction during the Dominion War, has been reassigned to the USS Titan. Using this connection, the Federal Remnant has begun using the Ferengi to supply them with weapons and other military hardware in preparation for a counterattack.
It doesn't take long for the Empire to discover the flow of materials though, the Empire quickly takes action against the Ferengi and the Remnant. The Ferengi, who once felt impervious to imperial attack, now realize that a battle is imminent. Rom must make a decision, step down inthefacce of adversity or lead his people into a battle they cannot win.
This story also tells of the final battle waged by Jean Luc Picard, a man who, despite his reservations against violence and all forms of military aggression, leads Starfleet in a valiant effort to preserve the ideals he pledged himself to. But how much can he do when Darth Vader decides to use the infamous Death Squadron to make an example of the Ferengi?

Feedback is good on either of my stories and its all appreciated, it'is hard to write when you don't know what your target audience wants.
