there are a number of possibilities along those lines...
EFC-ish
Terminator-esque
a better 'gargoyles'
our own comic-book inspired superhero universe
all we really need to do is make sure we dont run afoul of copyright laws... no usage of any characters, vehicle designs or locations that dont already exist in the real world
but then, if all else fails, we could do live action Hentai!
Well, we could make up locations and such as long as its kind of.. unidentifiable. But if its a series we would need to make it EFC-ish because of the on-earth locations in the show, yeah. But I think we'd need some people who want to do it :p

Whos willing?! LOL

How about a show of a war of independence for a terraformed Mars from Earth, just a thought

its possible. we'd need to construct an accurate look at the worlds a few hundred, maybe even a thousand years from now. thatd be a mighty hard task, predicting technology that far from now.

tho in the short term i can think of a few guaranteed technologies that will revolutionize space travel. the biggest one being space elevators. if we get them in the next 50 years, which is almost guaranteed, we'll see a sharp drop in the cost to go to space. as a result, space industry will become major, and if the elevator can become self sufficient (powered by large solar farms in space, providing free electricity) then it may cost less for a ride to space then it would to go to a movie. The actual electricity costs would be relatively low.

so no rocket launching unless mars colonies have taken the elevator sites. but its likely that regional governments will have kept control of the elevators and might even cut the cables. But there are other things to consider too.

how long does it take to terraform a planet anyway?

reasonably? quite a bit. on the order of centuries. the biggest problem would be atmospheric pressure. we'd need to increase the pressure of mars's atmosphere by something like 30 times is current pressure. thats alot of gas and would require importing from comets and icy asteroids over a period of time.

Pardon my ignorance, but don't they just have to melt the polar ice caps?

p.s. It could be about how thy get rid of what Earth military is there, then they have a few months to build up, and then, endgame, the Earth War machine has arrived and is ready to take over again.

melting the caps wont put enough gas into the atmosphere however. You'd need to outgas ALOT of shit from the permafrost. It might not actually take much more then 200 years but i still dont seriously think it would be done very quickly.
