I was looking at the Orange Star bullshit thread by the troll and was wondering whether anyone wants to create a parody, except using the Death Star painted red and crewed by WH40K Orcs, with spiky bits attached? Anyone want to work on it together and see if we can pull it off?

You know, I'm not very good at writing (tending towards too much back-and-forth dialog and not enough description), and I'm not sure what this Orange Star is, but this gave me an idea. Da Orkz can loot anything, after all.

----

The bridge of the Space Hulk Gortreg's Hammer bucked and shook from the turbulence of the warp storm.

"'Ere we go, 'ere we go, 'ere we go!"

The flickering green light cast by the crackling lightning surging through the power conduits lit the scene. The turbulence only excited the crewboyz, as Da Big Boss saw as he sat in his throne, the metallic fingers of his power klaw tapping his jaw.

"'Ere we go, 'ere we go, throo infinity!"

The rest of the fleet following them were of much the same, if rather smaller. An explosion rang out behind them as a krooza bumped into Da Wurldburna, a particularly large battlekrooza; damage seemed minimal. Both of them kept going, at any rate.

"'Ere we go, 'ere we go, ere' we go!"

The verses of the Ork space chant rang enthusiastically throughout the fleet. Da Boyz were eager, and so was Da Boss. Soon, they'd be somewhere, and someone would be in for a good krumpin!

"Don't know we're we're going till we get there!"

A particularly savage buffet of warp energy surrounded them, tossing them forcible back into the world of physicality. Boss Gotreg glanced around.

"Where iz we?" he barked out, his fist slamming onto the arm of his kommand throne. Da boyz and da nobs on the bridge scurried about, reading the numerous sensors of the space hulk.

"We're ova a moon, boss! Lookz like a jungle moon of a gas giant!" The boy looked at his console more closely, whacking it a couple of times to make it less fuzzy. "Lookz like dere'z some sorta space station and a buncha shipz, too!"

Gotreg nodded, as he slammed his fist down on the Big Red Button, shattering the glass over it and sending it spraying everywhere. That a grot got skewered by a shard of it was of no mind. "WAAAAGH!" The button released the afterburnas of the immense vessel; flame roared from its many engine ports and retrofitted retrothrusters, scorching the paint (and a bunch of overeager boyz) of an unfortunate ramship that was a bit too close. He was pushed back into his kommand throne by the kick of accelleration, his feet kicking up in excitement as the massive ship rocketed forward, towards the enemy space station.

"Put it on da skreen! All da ovva shipz, go after da fleet! We iz da Orkz, and we iz made to fight and win!"

He grinned as the image of the space station appeared on the screen. It was vaguely spherical, with a dish along one side and a large amount of exposed metal structure gaping like an open wound.

"Boyz, get reddy ta board! All ahead full! Dat hulk iz ourz!"

Not too shabby IMO, and looking over it, I think you may have something semidecent here.

As for the Orange Star, it was locked and sent to the Pit of Shame (thought I think that may have been too nice for it) for redefining the meaning of bad posting.

dude that shit was so bad we need to dig a basement to the hall of shame and put it THERE.

At first I thought it couldn't be parodied. that's be like "Hey lets do a spoof of Evil Dead.

But then a writer appeared who had the skill to make of garbage a readable novel.
Today we spell redemption

Well, I'm impressed. You managed to take Youngla's shit and turn it into something good.

Indeed. As far as parodies go, this is looking to be quite good. And anything's funnier when Orks are involved.

Still, I'm a relative newb, so can someone fill me in on the whole vastness of idiocy that was Orange Star? I'm familiar with the actual piece of shittery, but was there any other level of idiocy surrounding it that isn't blatantly obvious?

No, it's just inane and stupid on every level.

And, for some bizarre reason, orange. That's the thing that really weirded me out; why orange? The rest I could understand as a bizarre power fantasy by some thirteen year old who thought it was really impressive to splat together a bunch of settings and have his hyper-Death Star go on a rampage through them. But why is it orange? Does that help somehow?

The awesome fail that was Youngla0450 can be viewed here. Scroll down to the bottom for links to his other shit threads.

Man everything about that guy was annoying, right down to his username and signature.

Apparently because orange is his favorite color (link).

Orange Star was a very bizzarre Trek/Wars/DRACULA crossover. The Death Star was orange. And...

Yeah. It was kinda like the Kwisatz Haderach Jedi guy, i.t. 'Well, you COULD combine those, but why would you want to?'

Wow.Looks promising.I do writing on the side but frantically my writing isn't up to a standard I'd like just yet. I just found Youngla obnoxious. Anyway at least with Orks it makes sense. You paint it red?It goes faster. Add spikey bits?So they can use it as a close combat weapon. Honestly,an Ork Waagh would be stomped by the GE but their spores would provide a constant problem for the Empire for decades afterwards.

In some ways, it was even worse than Galactic Juggernaut's crap. Juggers was a complete and utter idiot, but he at least paid attention when people told him "I will lock any thread you start on this subject." He didn't have to be banned; he had the grace to hurl himself out the door and spare Dalton the risk of a sprained toe kicking him out.

Unless the Empire started pulling Base Delta Zero attacks on every ork-infested world, which would raise its own problems.

Also, always remember that there should be a space after punctuation marks. There should be a space after a comma, and after a period. There should be a space after a question mark, right? Right.

Anyway, I do think this has the potential to be amusing for the 40k Ork fans in the audience. Like, say, me.

A race based on English football hooligans with their hands on a Death Star painted red to make it go faster ....
It could only happen here.
