Fanfic Writer Drought??

A recent emial from Dalton about an upcoming update for the archvies essentially lists me as the sole fanfic writer included in the update. I've looked on ASVS when I post my chapters and there's not a fanfic in sight. Is this just a period of drought that occurs every once in awhile or is there something else going on? Has ASVS lost much of its creative talent to RL and other misadventures??

No. You. You are the problem. You are two prolific. I demand that you cease and desist from all of your fanfic writing from now until for-

ASVS had a rather severe run of crossposted spam recently and our other prolific writer, Chuck, has been busy of late...it seems most of the folks have moved over here and it's rather difficult for me to find and update the new stuff because of the formatting.

Honestly, I just wasn't getting enough responses with De Imperatoribus Galacticis to warrant continuing it at a rapid pace. So now I'll just write a chapter here and there and hopefully generate some response by the rarity of the chapters being posted. Maybe.

To be also perfectly honest, Xim! was a rather shameful attempt at writing in a shorter-chapter format for the purpose of making my name more productive, and thus more visible, in hopes of drawing more viewers to De Imperatoribus Galacticis. As it turned out, poor reviews in the field of continuity killed the introduction and I lost interest then in pursuing it, since attracting negative publicity was obviously not my intent.

I have something else in the works which may actually be out by the end of the week, but it's not Star Wars or a crossover. To give a hint to those in the "know" -- It's set in a quasi-Lovecraftian universe.

I think it might take half a year for "The Wormhole War" to be completed, but by then it'll probably be posted....

However, I don't think it'll ever get published on the written page.

Oh, Rob, do you want me to send you Chapter the Thirteenth of DIG?

I have a chapter of a ST fic I was writing and a chapter of a Starcraft fic. But, eh, give me a few days and I can come up with alittle something. :)

*sniff* I can't write. I have no inspiration at all. And with PotF dead.... oh, maybe you should just pull it, Rob. It'll never go anywhere.

*hugs* There there, Kelly...

I'm still working on From Her Heart (and I refuse to let it die or fade away). It's just that I'm a damn slow writer and I haven't had much time to do much with it recently. That and I have a bad procrastination problem...

Some things will be okay, yes. This won't. I just love how people just dust shit off themselves like it never happened.

Well, Dalton, I suppose I can post the first section/chapter/part/whatever-the-fuck-I-call-them or two of a ST fanfic I'm working on called Star Trek: Sojourner.

Then again, it might cause trekkies to go "MY EYES!! THEY BURN!! THE REALISM!! IT HURTS!!"

But then again, the lesbienism might make up for it...

By all means Duchess.

Kelly: If you truly and seriously want me to pull it...I'll pull it. With extreme reluctance.

SQ: I'll take you up on that offer - if you send it to me in its original text or doc format.

Spanky: Take your time. The Archive isn't going anywhere.

I have one fanfic to my name, and I wrote it in 7th grade, in pencil, on two and a half spiral-bound notebooks. Even if I knew where it was, and it wasn't a crime against literature, I still couldn't post it.

I am still here. But Homecoming has lodged itself inside my prefrontal lobe for close to two months now and I want it out. Still working on it, though.

I was gonna write a fic of some kind, but ideas escaped me before I was able to write them down. I was gonna do something involving the Vong invading during the Clone Wars, then something involving StarCraft and StarTrek, then something involving the YV and the Zerg. All those ideas worked great in my head, but when I tried to plan them out on paper, didn't work so great. If I come up with something, I will make sure to submit it.

I used to have too many ideas for fan fiction to actually create anything I could post because I kept switching from one project to another. Now I'm mostly interested in little beyond building up my own universe, which is definitely non sci-fi.

I had an idea for roughly adapting a WW2 campaign to Star Wars but that's probably never happening.

Alrighty, then... If you want to look it over, I recently posted it, along with <shameless plug>another section of my, at present unnamed original fic</shameless plug>

I had about half a dozen different fanfics going on at one time. Anything that remotely interested me was turned into one. All of them, unfortunately, sucked. Then I settled into one SW fic...and after the third chapter or so I realized it wasn't going anywhere and there was nothing I could do with it, so I gave it the slip.

Fanfic writing is just something I can't get the creative juices flowing on. :(
OTOH, I play a mean warsh board.
