I've downloaded the remainder of the fanfic and for some reason Office XP doesn't have the required format and I really have no idea where to start. Can anyone help me with this?

What's it saying?
It's a Word 2000 file. It should open in Word XP without any problems.

It comes up as gibberish.. That's what I expected from a Word XP file as well. Maybe a setting is off or my program has malfunctioned.

Fixed it by reinstalling. I should have followed my instincts.....sorry to waste everyones time.
