What's the wordcount for typical chapters? I'm curious because I'd like to write but can't seem to get long enough chapters or 'frames/scenes'.

uh...

There is no 'hard and fast' ruling on the matter. A chapter can be 1'000 words long or 10'000. Or more. Or less. A chapter is meant to describe a scene, and that's it. If the scene is long, the chapter is long. If short, the chapter is short.

You don't have to worry about word length.

But... if you insist, you can always take a look at the fanfics that have been written by others here, and perform wordcounts on them to give you some idea.

Longest I've ever had is about 17,000 words. That was about two to four years ago.

If I ever get to writing again, that record may change.

I'm trying to stay around 10000, but I've want to keep it intermingled with shorter ones around 3000 or less if possible, long chapters are fine, they can take it out of you. :D

well, if you've read any L.E. Modesitt, then you'll realise that it's possible to get published when your chapters' average length is less than a thousand words. I just end mine when it feels right, which seems to be a good way to go about it. If you keep on getting too caught up in superfluous things like that then you'll lose sight of the story.
