Non-sucky SWvST Fanfics Where Trek Doesn't Fare Too Poorly

Do they exist? I'm talking about fanfics where the conflict is the main plot point, instead of the contact. Unlike, say, the Worlds Without End trilogy, where both galaxies' good guys hook up and stop the Empire from doing everything that Wong says and more, the kind of fanfiction I'm talking about is alot like "Conquest", where the Feds and the Trekverse are alone, oh so alone.

Has there ever been an attempt to write a story where the Federation takes Wong's advice from that strategic/tactical analysis report he wrote, and decentralized and stopped being so damn humanitarian?

And come to think of it, are there any SWvST fanfics where the big conflict isn't Federation vs. Empire or Empire v. Borg? It'd be funny if there was one where the Empire decides the Feds are too insignificant, and went after the Interstellar Concordium or someone in the Gamma Quadrant.

Are you going to explicitly demand 'non-sucky' as a defining characteristic? I'll shamelessly plug my trite effort, Thirty Years Warning, but I make no effort to claim that it ascends to the heights of adequacy. On the plus side, it is extremely short. :D

I'd say Fist of the Empire, by Marina O'Leary, but its probably still down for revising. So I'm going to say The Long Patrol by her instead.

*taps foot, and looks at consequences about that whole True Rebellion bit*

Anyways, yeah, I'd have to agree with Long Patrol and 30 Years Warning, and also add Twilight War and Starcrossed onto the pile.

Crap, I've been spotted!

*throws out naked link to Thirty years warning as a distraction, runs while people stare at its lewd nudeness*
