Just Another Respawn (40k/ST)

Authors Note: This will be more of a short story than a true crossover. Comments/Fluff rants appreciated.

Prologue

Planetary Defense Fort #3, Northern Hemisphere, Local Morning
Sergeant Manning strode into the mess hall where his men, and the rest of the garrison, were eating. “Quiet!,” he yelled, “There’s a warp storm surrounding the system. Everybody to your posts in 3 minutes!” With that, he disappeared as the men scrambled to scrape plates and pile dishes.

Spaceport, Northern Hemisphere, 10 miles East of PDF #3
The Tzeentch cult set into motion the plan that had started with the summoning of the warp storm. They demons they had summoned would manifest soon. With them the planet would fall.

Suburbs, ½ mile South of PDF #3
Eight men realized that the coming storm was not the one they had summoned. They continued with the rituals, fervently hoping that the current storm would suffice.

Chapter One

Outer Perimeter of Defense Fort #3, 15 minutes later
As part of the 10% of the defense forces that would be taken if He needed an Imperial Guard Regiment, Sergeant Manning and his squad had actual lasguns and flak jackets. Looking around to make sure that everybody was here, and where they were supposed be took little time.

Dalton was leaning against the wall, carefully checking over one of the few Plasma weapon on the planet not controlled by the Adeptus Mechanicus. After proving himself to them, and to the weapons spirit, they had allowed him to use it. Across the bunker was ‘Four Eyes’ or the other Dalton, depending on who you asked (both Daltons professed no relation to the other). His flamer was the only thing anybody really wanted him to have. Anything else (including las and slug throwers of any kind) was a waste of ammunition with his accuracy. Jade was by the steps up, juggling the squads two frag grenades again. He really needed to stop doing that. It didn’t help that Sheppard was grinning as he did it. With a sigh, he turned around to watch out the firing slit.

Spaceport
Out of the summoning circle the terrors of the warp came. As more came, the circle grew, eventually covering the whole floor, and dropping the cultists down into the pit they had summoned. More, larger demons crawled out and started to help their smaller brethren claim the world for the Changer of Ways.

Suburbs
The eight men smiled as the part of the wall twisted and disappeared. Out of the hole came eight armored figures in armor the colors of brass, black and blood. They continued to smile as the figures slaughtered them.
