Final Destination(SW/SG fic) questions^^

First of all, I want to know whether or not people would be interested in such a fic(AFAIK, it has not been tried before.

Furthermore, I wrote a prologue for it, in order to show you guys my writing style, and I'd like some help how I could improve it before I actually start wrtiting^^ many thanks in advance...

Prologue for Final Destination:


54 years ago, the former senator of Naboo seized control of the corrupted Republic, installed himself as an Emperor and created and brutal regime, considering all non-humans outsiders. Most of the Jedi were killed by the Emperors minions, but a few survived and went into hiding.

35 years ago, a young farm boy managed to destroy the empires most feared weapon, the Death Star, with nothing but an X-Wing and the guidance of the force.

32 years ago, the same boy first confronted his father, Darth Vader, and resisted his attempt to draw him to the Dark Side.

31 years ago, Luke Skywalker fights his father again, this time saving him from the Dark Side and Vader killed the Emperor.

A few years later, the New Republic was born, and despite all odds, despite the campaign of Grand Admiral Thrawn, the reborn Emperor, Admiral Daala, and the New Empire it managed to prevail in its struggle for survival. The Emperor finally crumpled to an unimportant faction. The galaxy was at peace.

10 years ago, the Galactic Republic was struck by a new enemy: the Yuuzhan Vong. Brutal and cunning, these extre-galactic aliens invaded the Galaxy with only one intent: kill or enslave any sentient being, terraform their planets and destroy all man-built machines. The Republic was crippled by it’s new foes, and in despair an alliance was made with the Imperial Remnant and the Hapans, but a long time it seemed that all efforts were futil. Planet after planet fell to the Vong, including the capital Coruscant. Yet when the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances seemed to make it’s last breath, it’s military forces, with the help of the Jedi Order, rebuilt by Luke Skywalker, defeated the Vong in several battles of great importance, and lead a furious campaign to defeat their enemies. And in the end, in the battle of Coruscant, they succeded. Billiards of lives had been lost at both sides, but the devestaded Galaxy was at peace again.


FINAL DESTINATION

Prolgue

On Coruscant, a jedi master stood ontop of the highest building, enjoying the magnifying view of the rebuilt city. All damage caused by the Vong had been repaired and the city had been brought back to it’s old shine. Next to him stood and old and weary looking man with a long with beard. Luke Skywalker turned his head towards the man with a surprised look on his face, which was quickly replaced by a broad smile.

“Obi-Wan! I didn’t expect to ever see you again! You’ve told me that you’d reached the point of new return a long time ago.”

His former mentor briefly returned the smile.

“Luke, I have no time to sparce. The fact that I’ve been enabled to return to you even for a short time speaks volumes of the importance of what I’m going to show you.”

His face was an image of concern, causing Lukes smile to vanish.

“You have become a greater Jedi master than any of us would have ever imagined, Luke, and I am proud of you. You have defeated the Vader and the Emperor and restored the Jedi Order. With your help, the threat by the Yuuzhan Vong was eliminated. But I’m afraid the time of trials is not over yet.”

All of a sudden, the image of the glorious Coruscant in front of them vanished. Instead, it was replaced by a devastated world, stripped of all life. Fierce wind blow around the tower, and lightings without thunder struck the surface, which was covered in debris of destroyed buildings. Yet again, the picture vanished and Luke found himself in the orbit of another planet, but he could not remember its name He could see it’s surface burning on various locations as well, and he was taken aback by the feelings of pain and remorse he recieved. The images began to come faster and faster, giving the Jedi only a small of glimps of each, though all of them displayed the same story of violence. Finally, they came to halt and Luke saw the Galaxy in front of him, accompanied by another one. Both were beginning to become smaller and smaller, until they finally vanished. Then, as if someone had removed the floor where he had just stood, Luke began to fall towards infinity. He cried for Obi Wan, demanding his old mentor what to do.

“Trust the force, Luke, but always be aware of the Dark Side. And remember, the future always is in motion.”

Abruptly, Luke awoke, his body covered in sweat. Slightly desorianteted, he looked around, only to find out that he was still lying in his bed on Coruscant. Slowly he stood up and walked over to the window. His quarter was small but very modern, as all rooms in the new senate building were. Built in less than two months, the building resembled exactly what the Chief of State Cal Omas had imagined, a monument for the newly risen Galactic Republic. It was almost a bizarre joke for Luke to look out of the window and see the destroyed grounds of the capital in front of him while he was standing within the biggest building ever constructed on this planet. Still he had to stare in awe as he saw one of the new building droids in the act of slashing the mighty ruins of a former penthouse once owned by the Kuat Drive Yards, meaning to replace it with the new headquarter of the Republic army. But when he was reminded of his vision, his expression darkened. Wondering what was to come, Luke shook his head an went back to bed. He had often enough caused immense trouble because he had reacted blindfoldly to vision, and he would not repeat his faults. Nevertheless his concerns didnt vanish even after he fell asleep, causing nightmare over nightmare.

First of all, I want to know whether or not people would be interested in such a fic(AFAIK, it has not been tried before.

It has been tried a number of times I'm aware of, although to the best of my knowledge there are no epics like those built around the ST/SW scenarios. Most stories avalaible are about SG1 somehow ending in the SW galaxy and looking for a way home or viceversa.

Perhaps the best I've ever read is
Force by Mara Jade, Jedi. Samantha Carter going Jedi Knight. It ignores little things, such as Teal'c's Star Wars collection, and the ending is somewhat disappointing, but does a better job than most.

In the opposite end of the spectrum we have The Eight Fleet Saga by MrEmperor, who tells the rather disappointing tale of a Imperial task force transported by an act of plot into the Milky Way.

Finally, there is a number of stories that have Stargate elements, but are not SW/ST elements. These include Jaephet's Children of the Ancients (in this very forum) an ST/SW, where the SG1 order is the forgotten past of the ST galaxy and the Goa'uld have been wiped out by a last ditch weapon of Anubis. Or The Terran Jedi, a BTVS/SG1 (incoming) crossover where Xander Harris went wearing Jedi robes in a fateful Halloween night...
