To Prove a Point(SG-1/LoZ:OoT) - Update 6/11

This is a fic I started as part of a challenge, to show that the Stargate universe can be used to write a crossover with ANYTHING. So to prove it, Here is the first chapter of this fic.

It takes place 7 years after the end of OoT, and during Season 7(Pre-Heroes) of SG-1. Enjoy.

----------------------

To Prove A Point, Chapter 1.

It had all come down to this final battle. Link, The Hero of Time, had fought this far and it would not end now. Ganondorf had to DIE! Link thought to himself. And I will send him back to hell where he belongs. The young hero finally arrived at the top level, the triforce of courage resonating within him. It had been seven years since Ganondorf had been sealed in the sacred realm, and Link had been given his childhood back. Yet somehow, he had managed to break free, and now claimed himself to be a god.

“Link, I see you have come to bow before Hyrule's new god.” Stated the Gerudo thief, in a voice too deep to be his own.

“Link, don't listen to him! It's a trap!” Cried the princess. Before Link could do anything Ganondorf raised his hand to reveal a strange device on his hand.

“Now you will see my true power! The power of a god!” In an instant, Link was thrown back into a strange pool of water, never to be seen in Hyrule again.

----------------------

“Offworld gate activation! We have an offworld gate activation!” yelled Walter as the gate started to dial in.

“Close the iris.” Ordered General Hammond as the gate continued to dial.

“Receiving SG-1 IDC.”

“Open the Iris.”

This was the hardest part, waiting for the team to come through the gate, and never knowing how bad it would be, or if they would come back through that gate. This time, SG-1 was lucky, emerging through the gate carrying one extra person. An unconscious young stranger whose green tunic had mostly been burned away.

“Hammond! Get a medical team down here now!” Yelled Colonel O'Neill. “We're plus one injury!”

“Medical team to the gate room!” Ordered Hammond into the PA system as he started towards the gate.

General Hammond walked into a gate room that was now completely chaotic with medical personnel bringing the injured stranger that SG-1 had brought back with them to the infirmary.

“Colonel O'Neill, do you mind explaining just who that was you just brought back?”

“Sir,” interrupted Major Carter. “If it weren't for him, we wouldn't be here.”

“Yeah, what she said.” Responded O'Neill

“I expect a full debriefing in one hour.”

“Understood sir.”

----------------------

2 Hours Earlier.

“Okay, there are about a MILLION Jaffa down there. Now what?” Bemoaned Colonel O'Neill upon seeing an encampment of Jaffa waiting around the gate for something to emerge.

“Hold on a second Jack. They're waiting for someone, or something to come through that gate.” Remarked Dr. Jackson. “And judging by the staff weapons that they have ready, they look like they want to kill them.”

“So what are you suggesting Daniel?”

“I think that we should wait for whoever that is to emerge from the gate, and then attack. Maybe give them a chance against those Jaffa, and give as a better chance against them as well.”

“Alright, we wait for whoever this person is to come through that gate.” Said Jack. Almost on que, the gate slowly lumbered to life as it started to dial. “Well, that didn't take long.”

Not long after the gate finished dialing, a single figure, clad in a green tunic and hat flew out of the gate at impressive speed knocking over several Jaffa. Drawing the attention of the rest of them.

“Pitiful Tau'ri, If you will not serve Ganondorf, then you shall DIE.” Yelled one of the Jaffa, presumably a First Prime.

The young stranger remained silent.

“NOW!” Commanded Colonel O'Neill as SG-1 appeared out of the surrounding brush and opened fire on the Jaffa.

“Kill them! Leave him for now!” Ordered the First Prime, turning his back on the young stranger.

The young stranger took the opportunity handed to him by SG-1, said a small incantation and turned to the ground, Unleashing a large fireball that obliterated most of the Jaffa.

“Hit the dirt!” Ordered O'Neill as SG-1 fell to the ground to avoid the oncoming wall of fire.

While most of the Jaffa were taken out by the fireball, a few were still alive and standing in awe of the power that this young kid had just displayed. Unfortunately for him, that spell had taken a lot out of him, and he was kneeling in the earth he had just scorched trying to recover from it. The Jaffa, recognizing an opportunity, opened fire with their staff weapons on the young boy.

The stranger saw the staff bolts coming and raised his shield in a vain attempt to deflect the bolts, but he was too late. The staff weapon bolts punched through his Hylian shield and hit him square in the chest, scorching his tunic severely.

Within moments SG-1 has dispatched the remaining Jaffa that had been guarding the gate.
“I don't know who you are, but we are going to get you to an infirmary.” Said Jack to the young stranger, who was barely hanging on to life. “Carter! Dial Earth!” He ordered to Major Carter.

“Gate's dialed!” She responded.

“Teal'c! Help me with him!” Ordered O'Neill. Teal'c quickly followed suit. The two of them dragging the near-lifeless body of their savior through the gate.

----------------------

“Colonel that is an interesting story.” Remarked General Hammond. “I will, of course, have to report this to the Tok'ra.”

“General, do you HAVE to bring those guys into this?”

“Colonel, I know you have strong feelings about them, but the emergence of a potential new system lord is a very serious threat to this galaxy. Besides, I am obliged to share any potential technological developments with them, and your description of this person being able to create a massive fireball without hurting himself certainly qualifies.”

“Well given my past experience with them, I'm a little skeptical.” Replied O'Neill. The brief argument was cut short by Hammond's phone ringing.

“Hammond.” He answered into the phone. “I'll be down there at once.” Putting the base phone back on its receiver, he turned to O'Neill. “It seems your friend has just woken up and wants some answers.”

Because it deserves a reply; this is audacious, to say the least.

Four letters. MORE.

It's quite a strange cross, but it's defiantely interesting. More more more.

Glad you guys are liking it so far. I do admit that the The concept IS a bit out there.

In case you were wondering, Link has all the equipment and upgrades that you can get in OoT. With the the exeption of: Hylian Sheild (destroyed by Staff Weapon), Master Sword (In pedestal in Temple of Time), Kokiri Tunic (Burnt off by Staff Weapon).

And that's why your default shield should be the Mirror Shield. Ancient tech, baby! Assuming of course, that Hyrulian magic is simply the ATA gene at work, as is expected from SG-1 these days.

And yes, more please.

Chapter Two of "To Prove a Point" I hope you guys like cliffhangers.

Incase you guys are wondering, and dialog that is written like this "<Blarg!>" is translated from Ancient.

___________________________

Even though his injuries had mostly healed, the young stranger was still lying in bed under the doctors orders. Upon hearing Doctor Fraiser's news, General Hammond and the rest of SG-1 came to infirmary to try and get some answers from the boy.

“I want to know who you are, and where you came from?” Asked General Hammond.

The young stranger responded in kind with a question in the Ancient's language.

“General, let me translate for you.” Interjected Daniel. Repeating Hammond's question in the language once thought dead.

“He says that his same in Link, and that he was thrown through the Stargate by someone called 'Ganondorf.'” Translated Daniel.

“Wasn't that the name of that system lord that those Jaffa were talking about?” Interrupted O'Neill.

“Yes Jack, it was.” Responded a slightly annoyed Dr. Jackson. “<Link, who is 'Ganondorf?' How did he force you through the Stargate?>”

Link remained silent.

“<Look, I know we may not have a lot in common, but if I am hearing your description correctly, you and I share a common enemy.>”

Link spat out something in Ancient before glaring at Carter and Teal'c.

“Daniel, what did you just tell him?” Asked O'Niell

“I told him that we may share a common enemy. He asked me why there were two of Ganondorf's servants here.”

“I Believe that he is referring to Myself and Major Carter's experience with Jolinar.” Noted Teal'c.

Doctor Jackson then spent the next few minutes carefully explaining Teal'c's defection and Major Carter's experience with the Tok'ra called Jolinar. After several minutes of letting the revelation sink in, Link was finally able to respond to Daniel's question.

“Hooo boy. That I was afraid of...” Said Jackson.

“What? What were afraid of Dr. Jackson?” Asked Hammond.

“Gannondof is a system lord, He was also ascended for a short period of time seven years ago.”

“Ascended? You mean like Anubis?” Asked O'Neill.

“Not quite, while Anubis was only half-ascended, It sounds like Ganondorf managed to completely ascend, before Link helped imprison him in a lower plane of existence.”

“But how did he get out?”

“Well the only way out would be for another ascended being to help him.”

“You mean, Anubis?” Asked Major Carter.

“Well right now that is the most likely possibility.” Replied Doctor Jackson.

“I am authorizing a mission to find Link's planet and to find out more about Ganondorf. I do not want another system lord in this galaxy with the power of an ascended ancient.”

----------------------

“From what I've been able to piece together his gloves are similar to those Atoniek armbands that the Tok'ra had us try.” Reported Major Carter. “It's not exactly the same though, they can be be removed at any time, and only affect a person's physical strength. It lacks the narcotic effect that the armbands had on us”

“Anything else?” Asked Hammond.

“Yes. One of the other things we found with his gear was a purple magnifying glass. Now, I didn't know what it was used for, until I looked at a cloaked object through it. This object is able to see right through a cloak.”

“What about that fireball that he created back on the planet? You know, the one that killed all those Jaffa, and nearly killed us?” Inquired O'Neill

“Sir, I'm still at a loss to explain that.” Replied Carter.

“Find out as much as you can about him and his equipment. The Tok'ra have decided to send a representative down to SGC to find out more about him. They'll be here in two days. I have also decided to call off the camera crew that was going to come here due to the recent events.”

----------------------

“<Hey Link, how are you feeling?>” Asked Daniel.

“<Better.>” Replied Link. Briefly looking up at Daniel Jackson before he returned to polishing his mirror shield.

“<When Ganondorf pushed you through the Stargate, you said that there was a flash of light in his eyes for a brief second, did he have a kind of device on his hand?>”

“<Yes.>”

“<Okay, Do you remember the name of the world you were from?>”

“<Hyrule.>”

“<Okay, do you have a gate address, usually seven symbols that show that gates exact position....>”

“<No.>” Interrupted Link.

Dr. Jackson, satisfied with the information he had gotten, turned around from Link's bed in the infirmary and started to leave.

“<Just one more thing.>” Stated Daniel, turning back towards Link. “<That staff weapon blast burn off most of that tunic you were wearing. Hopefully this will fit you.>” Upon saying that, he tossed Link a pair of BDU's. “<Can't have you going back to Hyrule naked.>”

----------------------

“So, Doctor Jackson, what did you find out?” Asked General Hammond.

“Ganondorf definitely is a Goa'uld. He used a hand device to push link through the gate.” Replied Dr. Jackson.

“Did you find out anything else. Such as the location of Link's homeworld.”

“I didn't get a gate address, but I did get a name. His planet has the name of Hyrule.”

“I want you and Major Carter to cross-check this name and potentially find this planet.”

----------------------

Two Days Later

“Incoming wormhole! We have an incoming wormhole!” Yelled Walter into the PA system. The past two days had been somewhat tense at the SGC with Link staying in one of the VIP rooms. The arrival of the Tok'ra would either break or magnify that tension. “Receiving Tok'ra IDC.”

“Open the iris” Ordered Hammond as he left down to the gate room to join SG1 and Link.

A brief moment after the iris on the Stargate opened, the Tok'ra representative walked down the ramp in the gate room.

“Greetings General Hammond.” Said Selmak, the Tok'ra representative.

“Hello Selmak, Jacob.” Replied Hammond.

“I have to be quick, the high council is expecting me back soon due to these recent developments.”

“What's the point of this visit then?” Asked Daniel.

“The Tok'ra high council has decided to allow Link the chance to blend with a symbiont. I am here to escort him back if he chooses to do so.”

This is interesting, please keep going. Don't let how out there this deter you; I've seen way more audacious crossovers than this work.

Now this is interesting!
And I must say that it is a lot better than much of the Zelda fanfiction out there...

If you want criticism though, I'd say that the second chapter seems to be written much like a movie script, with very much direct dialogue. Maybe it's a style choice, but I always found stories like that to look a bit cluttered.

Also, it's "Ganondorf" 8)

I'm an amateur screenwriter, go figure.

By the way, I felt like I semi-betrayed Link's character by writing myself into a scene where I had no choice but to give him dialog. Which is more dialog than what is directly shown in any Zelda game.

Well it only took you like two minutes to show up in the "Triforce X-mas light" thread awhile back and I know you like Stargate, too so I figured you should've been here like twenty seconds after the first chapter was posted.

I think that if one considers the reason why Link always is silent in the games, one will find that it's perfectly justifiable to ignore that particular trait for a written story and make him a non-silent protagonist. I think they do that in the mangas, too, for example...

“I'm sorry Selmak, but I stand by Link's decision. I am not going to order him to become a Tok'ra against his will.” Answered Hammond to one of Selmak's seemingly endless inquiries. Selmak, sitting across Hammond's desk had a pained expression on his face upon hearing the news.

“I strongly urge you to reconsider this decision, Having Link as a Tok'ra would greatly increase our chances of our victory against the Goa'uld.” Pleaded Selmak.

“I'm sorry, but I am not going to change my position on this issue.” Replied Hammond. “Now I don't want to hear about this again.”

“George, you have no idea how powerful this kid is, if he blended with a symbiont, not even Anubis would stand a chance against him.” Hopelessly pleaded Jacob Carter.

“I said I don't want to here it.” Stated Hammond as he escorted the Tok'ra out of his office.

“Sir, is this a bad time?” Asked Dr. Jackson as he walked past Selmak into the General's office.

“Not at all Doctor Jackson, please sit down.” Replied Hammond.

“Sir, I was translating the inscriptions on some of Link's equipment, and I think I may have found a gate address for Hyrule.” Noted Jackson.

“I'll authorize a mission to Hyrule as soon as possible.” Replied Hammond, co-opting Daniel's train of thought.

“Thank you sir.” Replied Dr. Jackson.

----------------------

5 Days Later

In his first day being allowed out of the infirmary by Doctor Fraser, Link decided to spend the day with the people who had saved his life from the Jaffa, SG-1

“Link, Why DID you turn down a Tok'ra symbiont?” Asked Major Carter over a bowl of cereal. “I mean, I'm just wondering.”

Link spat out a reply in ancient to Carter's inquiry.

“He said that 'The Tok'ra are just as corrupt as the Goa'uld, caring only for themselves, and that have let themselves become stagnant in their arrogance at how long they have been around.'” Said Daniel Jackson, translating for Link.

“Couldn't have said it better myself.” Replied O'Neill, changing the subject, he asked. “Daniel, any luck on those translations?”

“Actually yes, I can able to finish translating the inscriptions of Link's Ocarina, and I was able to find Hyrule's gate address.” Noted Dr. Jackson.

“Are you saying that we may be able to go to Link's home world?” Asked Teal'c.

“Hopefully, yes. Hammond has authorized a mission to Hyrule as soon as possible.” Replied Daniel.

“SG-1 report to the dialing room. Repeat, SG-1 report to the dialing room.” Came Walter's voice on the intercom.

----------------------

“Sir?” Asked Major Carter.

“Good, you're all here. I brought you here because we're about to send a MALP to that gate address that Doctor Jackson gave me for Hyrule.” Replied Hammond. “Send the MALP through!” He ordered the gate room.

On Hammond's queue, the diminutive MALP started to roll up the ramp to the gate and into another world.

“Receiving MALP Telemetry.” Stated Walter. The video screens showed the MALP emerge from the gate and then showed nothing.

“What just happened?” Asked Carter.

“I don't know, it looks like the MALP shorted out.” Replied Walter.

“Shorted out?” Asked Dr. Jackson. “What would cause that?”

“I don't know, but from the video feed that we got, it looked like the MALP was...underwater.” Replied Carter.

“In that case I am putting the mission to Hyrule on an indefinite hold.” Stated Hammond.

----------------------

The SGC had been quiet for the past month. Link's arrival had canceled the arrival of a camera crew to the SGC, because the national security risks were deemed “too great” by the Department of Defense. Despite the guest in the SGC, life went on.

“Hey Daniel.” Yelled O'Neill over a bowl of Fruit Loops.

“Oh, hey Jack.” Replied Daniel.

“So, how's the English teaching going with Link?” Asked Jack.

“Not the easiest, he doesn't really talk too much, so it's hard to tell. He was telling me earlier about how he had to relive the same three days to stop a moon from crashing into a planet.”

“You know, I wonder what that would be like.” Replied O'Neill, before returning to his bowl of Fruit Loops.

“You know, it's kind of funny. I would have had a job teaching English as a second language at a community college, if it hadn't been for the Aybdos mission. I guess I've come full circle with that.” Noted Daniel, wondering on what could have been.

“Yeah.” Replied Jack, completely oblivious to Dr. Jackson's remarks.

----------------------

“<Link, is that you, can you yeah me?>” Asked a voice in Link's head.

“Who, <Who is this? Saria, is that you?>” Asked Link.

“<Yes Link, it's me.>”

“<Saria, are you okay? I saw Hyrule, it was... Underwater.>” Link noted.

“<Yes Link, I ascended to the sacred realm with the other sages when you were pushed through the Stargate. The others decided that a Goa'uld possessing the Triforce of Power was too great a risk to the sacred realm.>” Replied Saria.

“<So you let the rest of Hyrule DIE because of it!?>” Angrily questioned Link.

“<Link, if the others didn't do anything, the entire galaxy would have become Ganondorf's slaves. This was for the best.>” Replied Saria in a sobering tone.

“<No Link, When Ganondorf sent you through the gate, you fate was chosen. Your place is here now. Hyrule will always remember you.>”

I'm glad you had Link get pissed over the gods flooding Hyrule and not just thinking "Well, it was for the best" or whatever that everyone in Wind Waker seemed to think (except Gannondorf).

Another Shortie. I'm setting up for a big conclusion. After which, I am going to go back and really try and expand this story.

----------------------

Ganondorf had found himself in increasingly unfamiliar territory. He had gone from ruling Hyrule to playing second fiddle to some parasite called 'Anubis.' Servitude or not, it was better than the prison of non-existence he had been trapped in for the past seven years.

“Ganondorf.” Said Anubis. “You have failed me. I gave you my best Jaffa and yet this 'kid' managed to kill them. You have something that rightfully belongs to me.”

“My Lord, Link was not alone, SG1 saved him.” Replied Ganondorf.

“You sent him through the Chaap'ai. You should have killed him when you had the chance.” Snarled Anubis.

“It will not happen again my lord.” Replied Ganondorf.

“You are right, it will never happen again.” Said Anubis as he stuck his hand out. The hand device forcing the life out of Ganondorf. Slowly three black triangles appeared on the back of Anubis' hand, the top one one glowing red.

“Guards, dispose of this thief.” Said Anubis, the Triforce of Power resonating in his voice.

----------------------

“I Henry Hayes do solemnly swear.” Stated the Chief Justice on the news.

“I Henry Hayes do solemnly swear.” Repeated President Elect Hayes.

Everyone in the SGC was paying attention to the televised events that would lead to a massive shakeup of the SGC.

“Wasn't Kinsey his running mate?” Asked Jack.

“Um.... Yes.” Replied Daniel, rolling his eyes at the obviousness of Jack's question.

“What is this we are watching?” Asked Link in his broken and imperfect English.

“It's the Presidential inauguration. Every four years, the government holds an election to determine the next leader of the country.”

“What stops him from abusing that power?” Asked Link, now curious about the government.

“Well, every state elects representatives to the senate who have the first say in the government. The president is just there to keep them in check.” Replied Dr. Jackson in an uneasy tone.

“And who is Kinsey?” Asked Link, still now sure on how the US government worked.

“He is the Vice President, essentially the second in command. Before this he was a Senator, and he was very much opposed to the SGC.” Explained Daniel.

“What Daniel is trying to say is that Vice President Kinsey has an axe to grind with the SGC.” Interrupted Carter.

“I think I understand now, thanks.” Said Link.

----------------------

Major Carter was in her lab studying Link's gear. Even after all this time, a lot of what he carried on him was still a mystery. She was trying to figure out how one of the tunics he carried was able to create a shield that would resist large amounts of heat, and filter out poisonous gases.

“Hows the research going?” Asked a research assistant.

“Not very good.” Replied Carter as she was inspecting a red tunic. “This tunic seems to be emitting a kind of electromagnetic blocking field. It's somehow absorbing large abouts infrared radiation, as well as filtering out certain gases. If we could figure out how this works, this could be a huge breakthrough for HAZMAT suits.”

“And the blue one?”

“That one's even weirder. It emits a force field that seems tailored to resisting hydrostatic pressure and somehow extracts oxygen that is dissolved in water as well as filtering Carbon Dioxide into oxygen.”

In an instant, Major Carter was pulled out of the room and into another plane of existence.

“Hello? Is anybody here?” Asked Carter.

“Yes Major Carter. I am here. I brought you to this plane.” Replied a voice from behind Carter.

“Who are you?”

“I am Zelda, Princess of Destiny.” Replied the princess.

“Why did you bring me here?”

“To give you my gift. The Triforce of Wisdom.” Said Zelda, holding out her hands, the Mark of the Triforce clearly visible.

“Thank you, but why me?” Asked Carter.

“Because the one you call 'Anubis' now has the Triforce of Power. That is why you must receive it, so that you can stop Anubis.” Replied Zelda, a hint of sadness in her voice.

“Wait, what is the Triforce?” Sheepishly asked Carter.

Zelda went on to explain to Major Carter the creation of Hyrule as well as the sacred realm, and the events that happened seven years ago. Regretful of the pain she had caused Hyrule.

“But, why me? Surely you are in a better position to stop him.” Stated Carter.

“No I cannot, I caused this. If I tried to interfere again I would only make it worse.” Flatly replied Zelda.

“Alright, what do I need to do.” Asked Carter.

“Hold out your hands.” Replied Zelda. A golden triangle then left the princess's body, the mark of the the triforce vanishing. The triangle seemed to hover in the air for a moment before resting in Major Carter's hands. After a moment that seemed like an eternity, the Triforce of Wisdom seemed to dissolve, and the mark of the Triforce appeared on the back of her hand.

----------------------

“She's awake.” Said a familiar voice. Major Carter, finally waking up, found herself in the base's infirmary.

“Welcome back Major Carter.” Said Teal'c

“Hey Teal'c. What happened?” Asked Carter.

“You passed out in your lab.” Said O'Neill.

“Passed out? One minute I was having difficulty trying to figure out one of Link's tunics. Next thing I know, I was talking to a Princess Zelda.” Replied Carter.

“You saw Princess Zelda?” Hurriedly asked Link. “What did she tell you?”

“She explained everything to me. She said that she was responsible for all of this. She gave me something called the 'Triforce of Wisdom.'” Said Carter.

“The Triforce of Wisdom?” Asked Dr. Jackson.

“It's an artifact from my world. It is said to give the wielders of it immense power. There are three parts to it. Power, Wisdom and Courage. I carry the Triforce of Courage.” Turning to Carter's bed. “Major Carter, I need to see your hands.”

“Gladly.” Replied Carter. Placing her hands in front of Link.

Link, turning her hands over to inspect the backs, jumped when the mark of the Triforce appeared on the back of her hands. “It's true, you do carry the Triforce of Wisdom within you.”

“Wait, What about Power? If Link has the Triforce of Courage, and Carter has the one of Wisdom. Who has the Triforce of Power?” Asked Colonel O'Neill.

“Thats the other thing Zelda told me about. Anubis has the Triforce of Power.” Said Major Carter. “We need to tell General Hammond.”

“Yeah, about that.” Interrupted Daniel Jackson. “General Hammond is no longer in charge of the SGC.”

“Wait, then who is?” Asked Carter.

“I am.” Said a voice entering the infirmary. “Doctor Elizabeth Weir. The President has placed me in change of the SGC.”

I've decided that when I finish this fic, I am going to go back and rewrite it to expand a lot of the scenes and try to estabish a lot of the characters better. Most notably Anubis, unless you've watched SG-1, You don't really know how bad Anubis is.

Update! The plot thickens a tiny bit, and a lot of backstory and exposition in this one.

Carter was still trying to recover from her ordeal. But she managed to sweet-talk Doctor Frasier into getting out of the infirmary bed and into the briefing.

“If Anubis has the Triforce of Power we need to confront him. The Ancients flooded an entire planet to stop Ganondorf from continuing to life as a host.” Stated Dr. Jackson. “If we let Anubis have the Triforce of Power, there is no telling what they will do.”

“I agree with your sentiment Dr. Jackson, but what exactly can we do at this point?” Asked Dr. Weir.

“Well for now.” Noted Jackson “We need to focus on finding the Lost City of the Ancients...”

“Seventy six degrees south latitude! Seventy seven degrees west longitude!” Blurted out Carter.

“What was that?” Asked Daniel, confused at Major Carter's sudden outburst.

“I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me. As soon as you mentioned the Lost City, that location jumped in my head.” Said Carter, apologizing for her outburst.

“No, I'm wondering what it was that you said. You blurted out latitude and longitude coordinates.” Said Daniel.

“Could that be the location of the Lost City?” Asked Dr. Weir.

“That would put it in Antarctica, close to where Colonel O'Neill and Major Carter 'found' Earth's second Stargate.” Replied Daniel.

“Could the secondary Stargate have been used to access this 'Lost City'?” Asked Teal'c.

“That's a very good possibility, I think those coordinates should be checked out by Prometheus when we get the chance.” Said Daniel.

“I'll see what I can do.” Replied Weir.

----------------------

“Dr. Jackson I need to talk to you.” Stated Link. Link had just caught Daniel in one of the base's corridors as he was on his way to the dialing room.

“What is Link?” Asked Daniel. Continuing on towards the dialing room, gesturing Link to walk next to him.

“I need to return to Hyrule.” Stated Link, nearly stopping Dr. Jackson in his tracks with the severity of his request.

“What?! Why, Anubis has the Triforce of Power, we need you here to help us.” Stated Daniel, trying to talk Link out of Leaving the SGC.

“I know, that Is why I must go back, I need to tie up some loose ends first.” Replied Link. Firm in his decision to return to his home, or whatever was left of it.

“All gate travel has been suspended for the next three months, how are you going to get there?” Asked Daniel.

“You have a ship.” Stated Link.

“Yeah, but there is no way we would be able to get use of it just to go to Hyrule.” Replied Daniel.

“Look, there is only one weapon that is capable on defeating the one who has the Triforce of Power. The weapon is inside the Temple of Time on Hyrule.” Said Link.

“How do you know that it is still there though, this could end up as a wild goose chase.” Said Dr. Jackson, doubting Link's story.

“Because I returned it to that spot seven years ago. The Hero of Time is the only one with the ability to remove it from its pedestal.” Replied Link.

----------------------

The dialing room was a frenzy of activity as the telemetry data started to come from the Prometheus. Everybody was standing at their stations waiting for the data that would save the Earth.

“Stargate Command, this is Prometheus, we are beginning our first pass over the target area.” Came a voice over the radio.

“Prometheus this is Stargate Command, we are receiving your telemetry.” Replied Major Carter through the radio.

In an instant the screens in the SGC that had been watching the telemetry lit up with data and images from the sensors on the Prometheus. Carter walked over to one of the screens, pen in hand, to look at the subsurface scans of the area.

“That cavern looks like where we found the beta gate.” Stated Carter, looking at one anomaly on the scan. As the image continued to stream in from Prometheus, an even larger anomaly appeared on the screen. “That's it, that must be the Lost City.” Said Major Carter.

“Stargate Command this is Prometheus. Our first pass is finished. We will be ready for our next pass in 70 minutes.” Said Prometheus. The ship continuing in its polar orbit around the earth.

“Prometheus this is Stargate Command. We copy, and are standing by.” Said Carter to the massive warship in orbit.

Five years ago

Link was Termina's local folk hero. Word of his accomplishments had spread throughout the land, and he could live comfortably in Termina for the rest of his life. However, Link had one desire after stopping the moon from crashing. He wanted to return to Hyrule, and to go home.

Feeling defeated, nobody he had talked to knew how to get back to Hyrule. Link finally turned to the one person who he thought could help him, the Happy Mask Salesman. The one who Link thought had caused all this to happen in the first place.

“<Excuse me, do you know how to get to Hyrule?>” Innocuously asked Link.

“<You can't, it's been buried.>” Said the Happy Mask Salesman. “Hyrule's gate has been buried.”

“<Gate? Buried? What has happened?>” Asked Link, confused at the Salesman's statements.

“<Let me show you.>” Said the salesman, gesturing Link to follow him. “<This is the only way off of this world.>”

Link followed the salesman into the labyrinth beneath Clock Town's giant tower until they reached the strange device. It was a large metal ring with nine markings on it, and a pedestal with several different markings on it.

“<What is this?>” Asked Link, in awe of the strange device.

“<This is a Stargate, it is used to travel between worlds in an instant.>” Replied the salesman.

“<I've seen some of these before.>” Said Link, walking slowly towards the ring.

Just as Link was walking towards the gate, it started to rumble and come to life.

“<Get back!>” Yelled the salesman.

Link, mesmerized by the spinning gate found himself pulled out of the way by the Happy Mask Salesman, narrowly missed being killed by the explosive arrival of a wormhole from another world.

Link and the salesman stood in front of the shimmering pool of light, waiting for whatever opened the gate to emerge. Finally, after several tense moments, a young redheaded girl emerged from the gate.

“<Link?!>” Said the girl, overcome with sheer disbelief.

“<Malon!>” Replied Link, overcome by joy at seeing a familiar face again. “<How did you find me?!>”

“<That's easy, your fairy told me.>” Replied Malon.

“<I knew Tatl was good for something.>” Said Link, his words dripping with sarcasm. “<Thank you, for finding me.>” Said Link, turning to Malon. “<I thought Hyrule had abandoned me.>”

“<You were only gone for a month.>” Said Malon, oblivious to what Link had gone through.

“<It felt like a lifetime.>” Stated Link as he entered the six symbols from his Ocarina into the pedestal.

Five Years Later

Life had been good for Link the past four years, Hyrule was safe and they no longer needed a hero. Link was content to keep Zelda's promise to him, and live out the rest of his life 'normally,' whatever that would be. Link had been staying with Malon's family and helped her out with running her family ranch, and taking care of her aging father.

Link was in the stables tending to the horses, and particularly Epona, the one who had saved his life more times than he cared to count. While he was leading the horses to the food toughs, he heard Ingo running towards him.

“<Master Link! Come quickly! It's Malon!>” Yelled Ingo.

“<What is it?>” Asked Link, still feeding the horses.

“<Some men, they came in here and they have taken Malon.>” Said Ingo, still trying to catch his breath.

“<Alright, lead the way Ingo.>” Said Link, grabbing the scythe that was laying near the stable, as he started to follow Ingo to the front gates of the ranch.

As Link closer to the gates of the ranch, he could start to hear voices talking.

“<You shouldn't resist us Malon. After all, is that how the future Queen of Hyrule would act.>” Said an inhumanly deep voice.

“<Link! Do something!>” Yelled Malon, panicking at her sudden kidnapping.

Link, remaining silent, looked around the corner to see who had taken Malon from him. It was the last person he wanted to see. Ganondorf. He can't be alive, I saw him sealed in the sacred realm. He couldn't have escaped. Link's befuddlement at how Ganondorf could have escaped was put short when one of the Jaffa fired at where Link had been.

“<Hero of Time. You are weak and useless.>” Bellowed Ganondorf's inhumanly deep voice. “<You cannot stop me from taking my Queen.>”

“<Let her go Ganondorf. She has done nothing wrong. Let her go!>” Yelled Link. Angry at Ganondorf for taking away the only person he truly cared about.

Instantly a bolt of blue energy flew across the ranch and hit Link, instantly paralyzing him.

“<Now Link, You will see the foolishness of your ways.>” Said Ganondorf. “<Take her to the castle for implantation.>” He ordered his Jaffa. Turning to Malon, he told her “<Soon, you will grow to like me, and you will rule Hyrule by my side.>”

Link could only watch helplessly as Malon was dragged away by Ganondorf's men. In that moment, his entire life had been shattered to its very foundation, and he vowed to kill Ganondorf once and for all.

----------------------

Link woke up from his bed. That same nightmare kept coming back to him. Every night, he had to watch Malon being dragged away from him, as he lay helplessly paralyzed on the ground. The only person he ever truly cared about, gone. Malon, forgive me. If I had only known, I could have saved you. I'm sorry I let you die. Link thought. Ever since that day, he had tried to avenge Malon's death. Fate had brought him to the SGC, and now, he would finally be able to lift that burden off his shoulders.

Link finally arrived in the mess hall, trudging his way through the corridors while deep in thought about his old land, and his home.

“Hey Link.” Said Dr. Jackson from across the room.

“Hello Daniel.” Replied Link as he grabbed a bottle of milk and took a seat by Dr. Jackson. “How is Major Carter?” He asked.

“Sam's doing good. Her head is a little shaken, but she is doing better. Unfortunately, we can't do anything with the lost city because it lacks a power source.” Replied Daniel.

“Can't we build one?” Asked Link, slowly working his way through the bottle of milk.

“Unfortunately no, Sam says that she knows how to build one, but lacks the materials.” Said Daniel. Looking over at Link, Daniel noticed the pained expression on Links face as he slowly tried to drink the bottle of milk that he had grabbed. “Link, are you alright?”

Shocked by Daniel's question, Link managed to give an uneasy reply. “Yeah, I was just thinking about the day I lost Malon.”

“Malon?” Asked Daniel.

“She was the only person I truly cared for, and I let her die. I had to watch as Ganondorf carried her away from me while I was paralyzed on the ground. I was helpless to stop him from taking everything away from me that day, just so that he could stick a worm in her head and make her his queen.” Said Link, trying to keep unpleasant memories from surfacing. “Every step I've taken since then, every action has been to atone for letter her die.”

“She may not be dead Link.” Replied Dr. Jackson. “Even when a Goa'uld takes over a person, that person is still there, they are just trapped...”

“No, she's dead. I killed her myself.” Said Link. “I... I had to. She had become a different person entirely, she . After I had dealt the lethal blow, for a brief moment, I saw Malon in her eyes again. Ever since that day, I have never forgiven myself”

Ah, poor Malon. I liked her. As if Link didn't have enough reason to hate Ganondorf.

If Ganondorf had Link incapacitated and helpless when he kidnapped Malon, why didn't he nab the Triforce of Courage from him?
