A question about Wongs story

Well, besides the question on how a kickass story like that could exist, I was wondering what class of ship the USS Carolina was? I've been wondering since I read the story. I keep getting the image of an Excelsior being in that mess of a battle in the beginning.

This is a question for email or PM, or atleast for the FAN FICTION forum.

Don't be an ass, Sea Skimmer.

I never actually thought it was important, since the ship is turned into iron filings in the beginning of the story anyway. Leave it open to your own imagination.

Eh, Excelsior then.

Skimmer, I did email him, but I didn't want to wait six months for a reply.:P

I envisioned the Carolina as a Sovereign for some reason ...

I saw it as a Miranda

I saw it as a Nebula or Galaxy. To each his own I suppose.

That's a great answer, DW.

I always envisioned it as an Exelsior class ship, which (uncoincidentally) is also the SF design that I think looks the coolest.

Darth WOng, is Chang an original character? Since he is Asian and is never referred to as such (as it should be; why do writers insist on giving ethnic characters ethnic characteristics bordering on stereotypes and the way alien races all act the same on ST), I assume that you created him. And this fact is a testament to the sad state of affairs in modern sci-fi.

I wish it was a certain Intrepid Class, with a bitch of a female captain. Captain of course "Goes down with the ship."

There was a character from Voyager Elite Force (a PC FPS game, very cool one infact) named Austin Chang, he was the Hazard Ops demolitionist.

Anyways, it couldn't really be a Miranda or an Excelsior, since the Carolina used quantom torpedos and not even a damn Obreth, let alone a Jem'Hadar attack ship would run from an outdated piece of crap like the Miranda. :P

No, it could be an Exelsior. Remember in "Paradise Lost," the Lakota was said to be carrying a load of quantum torpedoes, which it was then ordered to use against the Defiant.

I never saw that episode, but I do know what the Lakota is, I just wasn't aware of the quantomness of the torpedos.:P

Well, why not a Defiant-class, then  ?

Not Defiant. It didn't have a lot of people.

Personally i can't identify different ships apart from TOS Enterprise, TNG Enterprise, Defiant and Voyager so i just slotted it into one of those, TNG Enterprise look i think.

I never bothered to think about it, I just perceived it as a GFS.

I saw it as a Miranda, and I assumed it had been upgraded with quantum torpedoes.

For me it was an Intrepid.

A Jem'Hadar wouldn't run from a Miranda, lol.
