Stupid Bugs........ they're attacking the town! Torma heaved to her feet, leaping into the air to offer what aid she could... deliberately muting her Fear Aura so not to scare the townsfolk even more.

Torma lands gently as she could beside Secquon. This ... is beyond my skills, Secquon... Torma rumbles softly, looking down at the injured townsfolk with compassion. Do you think Astinius or Malkamar got all of them?

Nitram, slightly high on cough syrup: Do you know you're beautiful?
Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

Erhart sighed and shook his head, crossing the tower grounds to return to his mount, lifting out a brush from the saddle bags to begin wiping down his haunches. He was in thought over the coming war.

"We have been... Busy. You no doubt felt the vast surge of magic a few days ago, and likely already know that the Tower of the White Hand was cleared of undead in a great release of magical power. I do not know if you know what it was.

"We discovered that the tower was enchanted with magic of vast potency. It was holding thousands of souls within its walls, issuing them forth in undead form to drive us out. Malkamar used the tower's energy to power his spellfire to destroy the undead, but underestimated how much energy was really there.

"He had to shunt off the energy before it killed him. The release created a mythallar, like those of the ancient Netherese. We estimate that the phaerimms and Shades at the very least will come to see what happened. I come to ask you to seek Tyr's guidance if you can. We need to know who's coming, when, and from what direction. Can you commune with Tyr to find out?" Gaheris waited nervously for an answer.

Astinius seems to always be in his research chamber when the excitement happens..

"I noticed the replicators rampage and I come down to see them already destroyed... If Jax creates another replicator that is not under his direct control.. I will kill him... WOW.. Torma, you look splendid... I am amost impressed... I wish I could talk more, but something makes me think that it will take a powerful mage to get the town council to listen..."

Then Astinius walks off to talk to the town leadership

++I have over a +20BAB, and this guy is a commoner, so I didn't bother with the rolls. Also, the animated critters arn't replicators, just normal ones that fall apart in a rounds, but I figure the commoners don't know that. The glowing gauntlet is just a Candlelight spell, but once again, they don't know that. And I made the gauntlet, as posted on page 3 of the OOC thread.++
They look at you as if you are some crazed prophet, rolling there eyes and taunting you as they pass by. No one seems to care.
[All remarks and actions are directed at someone who was taunting me]

Jax seems to grow very calm. He then reaches out (with armored gauntlets remember, that's gotta hurt), and grabs the offending person by the thoat and pulls him over. Holding the offending commoner hard enough that he can't speak Jax talks calmly and in tones of low menace, but loud enough that anyone nearby can hear. (no point in doing this if the entire crowd dosn't get the point)

"It would seem that this isn't getting through to you, so let me make this compley clear. Your city has just been distroyed, and your kin slain, by bugs. To you, this is a tragity, to those who are coming, it's a joke."

Jax waved his free hand, and a few of the replicator corpses got up and skittered away.

"Those things, that your towns greatest mages and warrior were powerless to defeat are created with the wave of a hand. They were distroyed by people who didn't like the fact that your screams where distracting them from their work. People on their level don't care about mortals, want to know why?"

Muttering a few words under his breath, Jax activated the Gauntlets of True resssurect and brought back a nearby corpse.

"Because your death is NOTHING to them. These are people who are second only to the gods themselves, and if you want to live longer then a few days, I suggest you leave the city. You can flee on foot now, or you can wait exactly one hour at which time I'll have a more magical way for you to leave. Now spread the word."

With that, I toss him back down on the ground and head back to the Abby.

Astinius walked up right as Jax was man-handeling the commoners

"Be not afraid my friends. My friend is someonwhat.. overzealous. The reason we want you to leave is because we actually do care about your well being. An army from Thay is, after the events of a week ago, on its way. This is not your standard Thayan attack force. Considering the magical artifact they seek, it may very well be the Legion of Bone. Commanded by none other than the Zulkirs themselves. To THEM your lives mean nothing! I urge you to flee, either on foot, by spell or by horseback. Those of you that cannot flee, we will protect you to the best of our abilities, which are, as my friend has pointed out, second only to the gods, and their agents. However, even we cannot guarantee our victory, as the Zulkirs are just as powerful as ourselves. Do what is best fior you and your families. Warn your neighbors and get out of the city while you still can!"

*after tosses man down*

"Ah yes, how noble of you, protecting these people from the PROBLEM YOU CREATED!"
Jax glares at Aly.
"You know, when I signed up to help you, we were supposed to destroy the Night Masks, help the city. Well congradulations, the Night Masks are about to be distroyed. Know why? CAUSE THEY ARE GOING TO GO UP IN FLAMES WITH THE REST OF THIS CITY!"
Jax gesturers at the broken replicaors.
"But of course you care about all this. So, why has nothing been done? You could, in time, bring back all that have been lost, undo the damage done by this most dangerous of races that shoudl never have existed. But your not, do you know why? Because your to damn busy protecting your Mythllar! You could distroy it, and this would all end, but I doubt you and Malkamar are going too. Because it's too valuable to you, to your order, and to brining back the damn empire. If you work your hard, we might be able to save half these people. And what about everyone who's going to be killed as the Leagin of Bone works it's way here!? Mages like you and the Red Wizards are a thread just by EXISTING, because your too damn concerned with your magic to see what's going on around you."

"The creation of that Mythallar was not done by myself, nor was it intentional. You are right in one aspect though. So long as that Mythallar stays in the hands of those with enough intelligence and wisdom to use it properly, it will be fine. And will not be destroyed. malkamar or myself could destroy it at will, and should it ever fall into the hands of the Red Wizards, it will be destroyed.

I will remind you that you are the one that created these metallic isects, and did nothing to stop them once it was created. Only through the use of that Mythallar were we able to destroy every last one of your twisted creations. So who is it that doesnt care? WE stopped the plague of self replicating insects. WHile you caused the problem.

We can defend this city, and use the Mythallar to bring about the end of Thay, and the Zhentarim. The Night Masks are powerless in this city so long as we exist.

If you have anything of substance to contributre, back it up. Because your entire argument has just been reduced to shreds you raving lunatic of a cleric!"

"Not intentonal? Well then, alert the world and call the messengers, magic on a divine scale just happens by itself. Your either delusional or a liar."
Jax puts his hands behind his back and stares Aly down.
"Ah yes, the old 'Well if we loose, we can just distroy it', arguement. Funny, if your so sure, why are these armies even coming? I've seen your defences, past the mythllar's magic, you got nothing. You have let your power go to your head, your overconfident, the empire of Thay will last for just a bit longer. As for the bugs, yes, I made a mistake. But I seem to recall that your reason for distroying them was...........what was it again 'So they woudln't be underfoot during the battle'?"

He grins and his eye twitches a little.

"As for my being crazy, normal clerics are a footnote in history, it's the crazy prophets who change the world."

"We CAN destroy the Mythallar if we so choose. And its area effect is only 10 milies in radius you fool. When a spellfire channeler has to funnel magic away from himself to keep from dying, things heppen. He managed to contain the magical energies but they coalesced into a mythallar. You saw it happen, so stop lying to these people.

In fact, we destroyed those replicators that YOU let slip from your control, so that we could save the thousands of people in this city, so maybe you should stop lying again. We never even mentioned our motivations. When you let them loose upon the city, we cast a Disrupt Construct spell directly in the mythallar, destroying all replicators within 10 miles.

It is the insane clerics that destroy the world. If you escuse me, I have to get to the mage guild so I can get a few mages to help us Move the Mythallar out of the city Failing that, we will meet the Legion of Bone in battle. If you do not stop your mad ravings, I will be forced to bring you under my heel"

Witht that, Astinius entered the mage guild. Waving by the front receptionist and entering into the mian guildhall

"Ah yes, tell me, those things, each one of which is capable of tearing a strong warrior, why did they revolt? Because your pet dragon was TEARING THEM LIMB FROM LIMB FOR SPORT. Jax simply turns on his heal and stalks out, all dramatic like.
