Pity this still can't vindicate the statements actually made prior to the war, like the 45 minute warning until launch, the nuclear weapons.. But I'm sure you'll just bullshit us on those too.

You know what would be real vindication? Actually finding the damn weapons.

If Iraq possessed illegal weapons, they wouldn't be found for years anyway (assuming they are even still in the country). I'm not saying they did or didn't, just saying that it was a multi-year search, and (if I recall correctly) the administration failed to make that clear.

Failed to make it clear? They stated the exact opposite.

We did, after all, know precisely where the weapons were.

How come no one listened to the Iraqi scientists themselves? Hasn't just about every Iraqi scientist said that there were no weapons?

But that's just me.

They gave answers that no one in the Administration wanted to hear. That means they're wrong, of course.

I saw a picture of an Iraqi Republican Guard soldier in Baghdad wearing a helmet that had a hole in it. Gives you an idea of the state of their military infrastructure; the same infrastructure which was supposedly supporting a sophisticated chemical and biological weapons program which was capable of threatening the entire Middle East and even the United States.

Selective Hearing

They have selective hearing. They're all for listening to exiled Iraqi's and defectors who have a reason to lie: to get their country liberated and them into power. As far as I can see the Iraqi scientisits don't have any reason to lie. But they need to find these weapons because they used them to start the war.

You are correct they did indeed 'fail to make that clear', one of the ways they failed is when Donald was asked if he new where the WMD were he said;

'Yes they are near the Kirkurt area.'

I'd say they failed to make it clear that they were spinning bullshit too.

Pointing to this site (GlobalPolicy, org) only for the the years in the first descriptive paragraph (1991 - 1998), the years of the previous round of UN Weapons Inspections in Iraq.

Call this a stretch if you wish, but considering the UN (or atleast powerful elements of, not really interested in doing a full background search of the politics of the matter) felt that seven years was still too short a time for the matter to be satisfied fully, I would consider that the same to be true the second time around. Saddam had an additional three to four years to potentially rebuild an arsenal of "banned" weapons and hide them throughout his country. IF he had such weapons, and he chose not to use them against the invading forces, they would arguably remain well hidden.

Saddam couldn't even hide himself, but he is supposed to have been capable of hiding stores of WMD, along with the production facilities used to produce these weapons and the people responsible for the production of these weapons?

You gotta be shitting me, Axis Kast. One official in the CIA says that it's too soon to tell about Iraq's NBC programs and you claim you're vindicated, even though you claimed that the weapons ACTUALLY EXISTED?

It's quite the juxtaposition, really. If he wasn't absolutely crazy, he'd be quite easy to read.

So does that mean they knew that their information was very sketchy but still wanted the war?

It means that Comical Axi is going to be rather entertaining for the next few days as he rather unsuccessfully tries to explain it away.

He's wayyyyyyyy beyond going to the trouble of explaining the unmitigated series of intelligence collapses that have been revealed over the past few months- just recently the Iraqi defector known as 'Curveball'- whom the Germans *told* the Americans were full of shit, but, big surprise, they "didn't listen". This defector was the one who made up the mobile labs bullshit (amongst other things)- and who is related to a high-ranking INC member (you know, the guys who've admitted lying to further their glorious cause to put their alleged embezzler leader in charge of Iraq).
