Our power grows with each passing day.
There is one case of a reactor being linked to a weapon. The CEGA Typhon's Hecatonchires, it's linked to a 20MW reactor, just for it. Anyway I'll always prefer more down-to-earth mechs over stuff like Jehuty (though Jehuty and Anubis look SO cool). Though my fav would be the CVNA Ryu Bonebreaker (it has a shotgun!).
Hmmm, I was unaware of that example. What sort of weapon is it, and does it still have limited ammo?
Heavy Gears look awesome as well. But I prefer Exos :D
My first calling to DP9 was Heavy Gear. Since then, they've managed to pull me into every single one of their lines. They are the proud owners of my soul...

Hey, that one Gundam's crotch doubles as its face! And BTW, Gundams as we see them in Gundam Wing, or Even Mobile Suit Gundam, are too expensive to mass produce. AC Gundams work best as one-man guerilla warfare teams. Just watch Endless Waltz to see how they function in a traditional military role. And as for Amuro's gundam, there was the whole GM thing. They didn't mass produce the RX-78 itself.

So what? GM's pretty tough. So are Gelgoogs, Doms, and Guncannons. Not to mention all the MP mobile suits as time goes on.

GM III vs B-tech? ROFL........

I'm thinking a lot, and they do seem to do it regularly. So those things should be fucking tough.
Valkyries are constructed of Hyper Carbons using materials technology gleaned from the ASS-1 (later SDF-1). There would be a limit to how fast it could travel when transforming since it there's still a pilot.
The ASS-1? no wonder they changed the name.

Actually, it was an ASS for everything, crashing on the island, attracting a bunch of angry giants, losing it's own anti-gravity drives, mis-jumping, losing it's own FTL drive, nuking a city, etc.
It would've been an appropriate name, methinks..

Well, it was a tough ASS. It lasted from its refit in 2009 to 2045 and on despite being heavily beaten up. Plus its one of our badass mecha!

The Gundams would have trashed the serpents easily IIRC. The reason they were losing was because they were trying not to kill the pilots.. while the serpent pilots had no such inhibition.

Depends on the newtype. They're a lot like Jedi. Some are very strong, some aren't.

Ok, let me refrase that, I have heard that Anzambel and Ray are the two most powerful New Types, just how powerful are they, compared to say Jedi, or Babalon 5 Telepaths?

Hmmm. I don't watch much Bablyon 5, so I'll just compare them w/Jedi.

NTs can: lift objects telekinetically, communicate telepathicly, and anticipate enemy actions, much like Jedi can. They can't levitate as far as I've seen. Some newtypes, like Char and Amuro, can manipulate objects called 'bits' which are remote-controlled guns. They do this while still piloting their own MS in combat.

Does that help?

I've seen pictures of NTs lifting and manipulating objects with their minds.

NT can't do telekensis. I'm not sure what picture you are referring to, but they are for the most part described as people with powerful brainwaves which are transmitted as "psycho-waves."
