What does George Lucas think of 'The Matrix' trilogy?
I was wondering if anyone knew if GL has said or thought anything about the Wachowski brother's own saga.

He may well have seen it. But people don't comment on each other's movies.
Howedar is no longer here. Need to talk to him? Talk to Pick.

I think he mentioned that he enjoyed the LOTR movies. I know that Lucasfilm had demoed some new cameras for PJ.

May the way of the Hero lead to the Triforce.
There was a quote when TPM came out how fans were bitchin' about how childish the movie was (meaning the target audience was more for children). Lucas responded along the lines of 'that's the way I make all my movies, if they don't like it they should see the Matrix again' ...

Points at it and laughs?

Well, it might have only been a demo and not a serious attempt to get Jackson to go digital. Even 24p 1920x1080 doesn't look quite as good as film, especially in low-light situations. The Kernel wrote:Really? I thought that Peter Jackson was pretty adamant about sticking with film photography, while Lucas has been pimping digital as of late.Dalton wrote:I think he mentioned that he enjoyed the LOTR movies. However, some of ILM's work with "digital storyboards" and such was adopted by WETA.

As I recall Sean Astin got the ILM guys to stay an extra day and used their cameras to shoot his short film.phongn wrote:Well, it might have only been a demo and not a serious attempt to get Jackson to go digital. Because of the current quality of the prequels and the fact that during the SW fanfilm contest last year he choose "Pink 5" over "The Star Wars: The Battle of Hoth" I must conclude that he thinks that they are wonderful science fiction with incredible philosophic implications.
Lucas can suck it.
