well i have been wordering about this for a while and i havent made my mind up on this i mean you have soviets allie and yuri agaist the feds who have not much in the way of ground troops yet could use their ships to blow the enemy to buggery (except agaist starwars that is )
i think in a normal troop battle the feds would lose greatly but then the soviets would just launch a nuke and say thats the end of that
so wahts your ideas for a good battle between these very intersting armys

The Imperials would defeat all others fairly easily. The Federation forces would need a five to one advantage just to beat RA2 riflemen
"This cult of special forces is as sensible as to form a Royal Corps of Tree Climbers and say that no soldier who does not wear its green hat with a bunch of oak leaves stuck in it should be expected to climb a tree"
— Field Marshal William Slim 1956
The Feddies would be beaten by a Conscript rush, let alone anything else.
Imperials then smash the RA2 forces and they'd probably laugh at those weak ass Soviet nukes.
Evil Horseman, ready to torment the damned!

Am I annoying you yet? YOU SHALL BE AS GODS
Just look at the range that the RA troops fire at. Just look at how many shots it takes to kill someone. Just look at how many shots it takes a Federation "soldier" to kill someone.
If you don't believe me on the range issue, even the ingame movies support it (Russian ships firing their missiles point blank range, Harriers not firing against their target when at point blank range, defensive weapons not even firing untill point blank range, etc...)

On the other hand, we know that even Conscripts can withstand .50cal machine gun fire for a few bursts before succumbing.

What part in the game has .50cal guns? Considering the fact that the main gun of a Tank can't even kill a soldier and it takes REPEATED bursts to kill a dog... RA2 has substantialy weakened firepower and range.

Deployed GIs.
.50cals that can't even kill civilians in a single burst.

i only put the imperials in the poll as wild card affect like if they some how magicaly appearde out of no where
so Excluding starwars would the feddies do anything or would yuri have a feild day agaist the feeble minded people he loves so much or would the feddies nrw moon buggies encounter a few prism tanks on the way to san Fran Sisco lookinf for star fleet command ?
and dont doget the starwars is only there in limited numbers IE: a squadren at most with only a few at st's No at at's !!

ST has demonstrated superior range then even the tanks (of all the examples of rifle fire in ST, only one time were they trully outside in an open area and they fired at a range of about 100 yards). Higher order shuttles (Type-10 and higher) would do wonders against any RA2 air vehicles and FYI Yuri can't mind control air units.
