Stale Playlist? Let Mitth help!

Post by Mitth`raw`nuruodo »

I came up with this idea awhile ago, while I was living under a rock. Now, I can implement it. *evil laugh*

I will review a few songs (whatever happens to be next on my Winamp playlist). Based on this, you can choose to add them to your playlist (through whatever means you do... I won't ask, you don't tell) or not.

I will do this... I dunno how often. Whenever I am bored, I guess.

I'll start with Juliana Theory - Into The Dark (lyrics)
Genre: Rock
Overall rating: 4 out of 5
Comments: I like these lyrics, the song is rather catchy, and has a good beat I think. Why not 5 out of 5? Can't give that to the first song I review....

Right. More later.

(Yes, I'm horrible as a reviewer... it's 3:30 AM and it just occured to me that I was gonna do this... tomorrow I should write something a little better.)

Oh! I'll do one!

Name: Belly of the Beast
Genre: Halo Fan Music
Artist: Spiderstyle
Rating: 10 out of 10
Comments: The best Halo fan remix out there. Uses sound effects well, a nice pounding bass rhythme in the background, and has an awesome hard-rocking bit in the middle, remniscient of the music on The Silent Cartographer, when you're trying to get out of the underground map room. But don't bother reading anymore. Go download it now. NOW.

System of a Down's "Needles" is funnier. Where else can you get a chorus that goes "pull the tapeworm out of your ass, HEY!"? I totally lost it when I first heard that song.

Okay. But I'm too lazy to change it.

EDIT: My current playlist. If I suggest another song anytime soon, it will probably be one of these. Probably.

EDIT AGAIN: If anyone else wants to suggest a song, go ahead.

My playlist is stale because Winamp decided that I should only listen to about a third of it regularly. Any way to make randomness more random?

Load up your playlist, then go the the playlist order options and hit "reverse" & "randomize" a few times each, then play your list in order.

2001 was the last one I went to. The tickets cost a fortune and now the damn thing is full of "The Osbournes" fans. I can have a lot more fun in Camden for $70.

Bowie and the Beatles, nice choices there, Mitth. I suggest 'Pyramid Song' or 'Subterrainean Homesick Alien', by Radiohead, but then- I'm biased *looks at sig*

No, it's discussing finding such things on Kazaa that's illegal.

Wow.

Well, also add in that it was the first concert in Ozzfest that Ozzy returned to after he got sick in last year's tour.. THAT pissed me off more than anything.

Maybe one year I'll get to go. -shrugs-

Discussing Kazaa and pirating copyright music is illegal. So shut up about it. K?

Talking about free music?

Well, I guess I'll have to reccomend two sites.

OverClocked Remixes. Most of you already know about this, but I might as well point it out for those who don't. I especially reccomend djpretzel, Scott Peeples, and McVaffe.

Edgen. Simply put, this guy rules. If I ever made a game, I'd want to hire him for the soundtrack.

Actually, I was wrong. I did go to Ozzfest 2001--it was the one where Marylin Manson performed. It was 2002 and 2003 I skipped.

It's probably worth scraping up the money to see it at least once, especially if you're into that kind of music. My thing was, I'd already gone to it three years in a row, I thought the lower billed acts were getting lamer and lamer, and it was getting to the point that even out on the lawn it was jammed shoulder to shoulder.

I might be spoiled, though. My first Ozzfest was in '99, and the main stage had Godsmack, Primus, Slayer, Fear Factory, Rob Zombie, and Black Sabbath. There were some pretty good acts on the second stage, too. There hasn't been a lineup since then that interested me that much, and as I get older I find myself with less patience for that style of music. Still, if Sabbath comes back around, I might go again and just enjoy the debauchery for a day.

Lucky bastard.. The tickets were $75 a piece in ABQ last year.

Would've gone to Godsmack the month before, too, if shit hadn't hit the fan (my summer basically went to shit, anyway).

I just want to make it to an Ozzfest before there isn't an Ozzfest anymore. :(
