19 soldiers dead in the past 24 hours- 3 Army soldiers died April 5, four Marines died later that day, and now the 12. The casualties are now well over 30, and it's not even the end of the first week fo the month.

Quite a few of us here consider Greg a friend, and it's not one of the most comforting things to be reminded that he's right in the middle of all the shit going on in Iraq with a relatively good chance of getting killed or maimed, so I don't think he's overreacting. But if you want to be an insesitive asshole, go right ahead. I just doubt you'll be very popular afterward.

Most of what we thought where Iraqi special forces in the first gulf war turned out to be the untrained milita we shreded during the invasion, they really never had much of anything in the way of real special forces. Saddam didn't like those sorts of units, they'd be too good at a coup.

As for whats going on, some of the militas US troops may be fully engaged with supposdly had thousands of members, those numbers ought to easily kill a dozen US troops. Include say a single fireballed AAV7 or other APC in that and suddenly the number isn't so big.

Vympel, seeing as how you split the bickering out, I was wondering what my post on that subject is still doing in this thread because it should have legitimately been put down in the HOS as well. After all, it was part of the past tense spat. Unless you had a good reason for leaving it, of course.
