I used to love to expiriment on insects and slugs.

First i would connect worms to a train transformer to see if it would twitch, it died and it twiched.

Then i would pour salt on a slug and watch it die.

Then i simulated a chemical attack by fumigating a bottle full of bugs and watching them die slowly.

First i like to pull their faces backwards and make them smile for everyone.

This one cat i had, i was spinning it by its tail and pretending it was breakdancing.

Notibly what i did to this boy down the street. This boy and his dad pissed me off and kicked me out of there home, so i came back and the boy appeared in the mailslot. I pulled him by the nose and pulled him into the portal of the mailslot. He screamed and his dad then proceeded to chase my ass down the street.

Given my past, it's kinda surprising that I have never really been a cold, heartless person. There's been a few occasions like the toad I played hockey with in the garage, mousetraps in the catbox, and a few other random minor things. I've only killed a half dozen or so small critters, usually by accident in playing with them when I was younger, though I know of two that I did knowingly (the toad, which I felt really bad about after I realized what happened. And an alligator lizard I eviscerated after it bit me.(btw, they pull apart just like a crab if you get them behind the jaw and pull.))

All of that shit happened before I was 10.

I don't have anything truly heartless to confess, as I always feel really shitty when I realize I've inflicted suffering on someone.

Probably the most heartless thing I've done recently is a small rant on my journal about how a girl I had once fallen for (and, bizarrely, still have small twinges of attraction for) turned out to be a very deceptive, misleading, and overall poor example of humanity. It'd probably hurt her quite a bit if she read it, but she won't.

It was 5 weeks old, the rest of the liter was very healthy, but this one was not. It's eyes were still closed, little hair if any, no growth in 3 - 4 weeks.

I looked up the condition in a book on hamsters I had taken out from the library, found the condition was terminal, and decided to speed up the process.

A rabid raccoon is dangerous. That's a "no choice" situation.

It's hard to say since we could've just left them alone and let then fuck everything up every couple days. Besides making a mess & ruining our garden they weren't causing us any harm, of course they might've attacked us one day so who knows. Still, I think we had a bit too much fun shooting them with arrows.

Killing a rabid animal is necessary to the health and safety of the greater animal population. By killing it, you possibly saved literally hundreds of other animals by stopping it from spreading. You can only hope that you killed it soon enough.

As for me, I do take enjoyment in hunting and fishing, and I do take enjoyment out of catching that big fish or bagging a trophy deer. Not necessarily out of the joy of just killing it, but the joy of the hunt, the joy of successfully tracking down an animal. The joy of knowing that you can survive on your own if the need be. Hunting and fishing goes along with a deep respect for the game and a sense of fairness in the chase. If you don't have that, then you aren't a hunter, you're a poacher, one of the lowest of the low.

So, I'd say that that's not necessarily heartless...

However, putting out leg traps for the damn cats that were walking on my Dad's '79 Corvette, that was pretty heartless, although I don't regret it one bit.

If by "on your own" you mean with a gun, friends, and supplies, then yes you can. But if you take the common meaning, then no, hunting with a gun isn't enough to survive on your own; to live off the land. It won't help you find water for example, or build shelter.

One day, a friend and I decided to take our air pistols and go squirrel hunting. My friend had a sweet C02 six shooter and I had a single shot pump action pistol (but when pumped up to max, could easily match the C02 pistol).

After an afternoon of hunting unsuccessfully (damn hard to hit a squirrel at range with a pistol), we had one up about 60ft in a tree. My friend took aim and missed the squirrel, but the shot obliterated the branch the squirrel was standing. The squirrel fell the whole 60 ft to the ground, where it lay spreadeagled and stunned.

We were too busy laughing our asses off to take advantage of a cheap shot and after about a minute, the squirrel recovered and took off. We decided that if squirrels and bad-assed enough to take a fall like that, then out of respect, we'd leave them be.

Hmm... let's see... I've never really been evil to animals. Certianly, I've killed insects (burnings ants with magnifying glass, drowning bugs in the sink, etc. etc.) but to humans... wholely different story, albeit with few incidents. The only one that stands out to me clearly was a fight in 8th grade. This pain in the ass little shit who'd been pissing me the fuck off since the previous year finally just sets me off towards the end of the year during Gym. In the locker room, we get into a fight, and I had to be pulled off him by two or three other kids (one of them told me he was afraid I was going to kill him)

It doesn't sound heartless, but when you see how distraught the roommate was you can't help but feeling bad. I was in the room when it happened, but I never told the roommate what happened.

Lets see there have been a few good ones.

Took my friends hamster, fucking hate those vermin, and put it in its hamster ball. Then proceeded to repeatedly toss it, spin it and throw it into walls. When I finally let him out he was shaking, it was quite theraputic.

Went to comic shop and looked the prices for some Magic cards knowing my friend had a few. Proceeded to purchase them from him for 15 cents and sell them for 20 bucks. He still won't let me down for that. It was a tad bit dastardly though.

Well.. i ran over a bird with my bike, as it was shooting out low from some bush. I never had a chance to avoid it. I still hate myself for it.

Indeed i never hurt, tortured or killed animals or insects as i had a very high degree of respect for them since i was a baby ( i was around cats, dogs, birds, turtles and some other stuff since i was born).

Those pity humans are a completly other thing .

I guess i can myself call honourable and loyal to the core. As long as you show me that you are the same way towards me. If not, you better never cross me.
I have exactly 6 friends and everyone of them (heck even my own mother ) call me heartless and cold (towards other people) on a regular basis...

Tbh, most of these situation my friends and family refer to are not that clear to me. I had some serious brawls and some of my friends were involved too.
They refered to my expression as i stroke down those who attacked me. They called it cold, i call it effectiv.

To get this clear, i never initiated brawls, but i never run off of one. If such a chance is opening up to me (test skills against humans), i go on to it as best as possible .

Btw. hunting deer (or other animals) would be much more "honorable" or "challenging" if they could shoot back.
