Sad shit but I guess Japan is doing the right thing by not caving, doesn't make it any easier for the families though.

Very sad.
:x If this does go down, I hope the Japanese fuck them up Samurai style. Would an armed response be considered legal self defense under the Japanese constitution?

Yes, but you can expect the Japanese Diet to have lot's of issues with non-military citizens being fucked up like this. There's going to be lot's of harsh debating over whether being in Japan is a good thing or not and whether it's legal under the Japanese constitution.

So he can do what? Give these assholes a medal? Achmed Q. Citizen isn't responsible for this, but he's the one who suffers if we withdraw now.

Achmed Q. Citizen isn't exactly rising up to stop these fuckers either.

No, he's not, but that doesn't mean I'm ready to let Saddam throw him in the plastic shredder.

It wouldn't suprise me if Japan pulls out their troops over this. I wouldn't want to see the people burned alive, but I admit it would be interesting to see Japan's response to such an action.

The Japanese citizens are asking their government to recall their troops,so two choice maybe they'll call them back or won't let terrorists intimidate them. :?

Well, Japan didn't capituate and it seems that they said they'd release the hostages after a cleric group negotiated with them. Hope they do let them go but I'm glad Japan didn't puss out over it.

I hope any other country faced with the same does the same thing and once the fuckers figure out that taking hostages isn't doing them any good, hopefully they will stop.

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

My understanding is that the the PP lost in Spain because of the clumsy way Aznar tried to pin the bombing on the ETA despite massive evidence to the contrary. At least that's what the Spanish guys who post on another forum and a lot of the news reports state.

He really needed to talk to GWB in order to learn how to lie more effectively.

Ouch,

But seriously it was my impression that this was mainly the case, that the current party in power were trying to put responsibility on a group that was not occasioned to this style and type of attack. Basically, the public realized that they were trying to blame the wrong people and well changed their opinions.

Actually, the Japanese military's extensive Godzilla-related combat experience has given them numerous powerful weapons which could be used against Iraqi insurgents. From "Godzilla against Mechagodzilla", we know that they have aircraft with such a ridiculously powerful thrust to weight ratio that two fighter planes can airlift an armoured mecha the size of an apartment building, along with lasers and a weapon which can cryogenically freeze an entire building on impact. From "Godzilla Versus Megaguirus", we also know that they have an orbital micro-singularity weapon platform which can fire on any ground target with accuracy of +/- 20 metres or better, not to mention Fighter Griffon with its VTOL capability and photon pulse cannons.

It is quite clear that all the Japanese have to do is unleash their anti-Godzilla forces :D

They also have those sweet laser artillery systems that, now that I think about it, are exactly the same as SPHA-T's.

I was actually looking for a shot of the older kind with the lampshade emitter, but that's the best I could find. That's from 1995.

Why a team? No need to send in the Super Robot Army, Mazinger Z would be enough :)
