When has Hans blaster blown a noticable hole in the armor of a Stormtrooper?Isolder74 wrote:Only that its the same weapon she used in ANH against the stormtroopers.. It appears to have had just enough power to simply drop someone. It didn't blow a hole in the Armor like the other blasters have done. Han took his favorite gun what is wrong with Leia doing it. HEr blaster appears to be only low power
The only source I can find is the Star Wars Role Playing Game that list it as slightly above lethal levels
3d+2 in WEG vs 5d fo the ST Rifle(WEG)
So she brouht a conceelable weapon and it appears it didn't get confiscated
when they were captured.

Its not ST armor but it blew chunks out of thw wall in Docking Bay 94. ST Rifles(The Weapon we are compairing it with has done so so nice red herring) have done so all over Empire Strikes Back(Obviously set to full power). The Person shot by Liea is seen to fall out of sight so we can't see what it did! Her blaster in this case did leave small burn hole in ther ST armor after shooting them.Kamakazie Sith wrote:When has Hans blaster blown a noticable hole in the armor of a Stormtrooper?Isolder74 wrote:Only that its the same weapon she used in ANH against the stormtroopers.. That was disapointing ..Should we show this Federation how to build a ship so we may have worthy foes? Typhonis 1

A blaster is a blaster to me. I don't see why Leia would take a weaker weapon when going up against armored soldiers. If you have some real evidence to support your claim that Leia's blaster is significantly weaker than Hans then please lets have it.Isolder74 wrote:Its not ST armor but it blew chunks out of thw wall in Docking Bay 94. Also, we have the examples of the officers on board the Death Star.
However, I think I need we've gone off track. I have no doubt blasters are as powerful as claimed, however, different power levels produce different results. I'd like to see the same courtesy given to Star Trek weapons...that's all.

It hasn't. Stormtrooper armor is designed to absorb enough of the bolt's energy to give the trooper a chance to survive the injury (which suggests nearly all of it gets absorbed, more or less.)Kamakazie Sith wrote:When has Hans blaster blown a noticable hole in the armor of a Stormtrooper?Isolder74 wrote:Only that its the same weapon she used in ANH against the stormtroopers.. The officer survived? And even if he did, so what? You think they don't have concealable body armor that can mitigate blaster damage? (Such as in Darth Maul, Shadow Hunter, or the various DK Visual Dictionaries, etc.)Kamakazie Sith wrote: One example that comes to mind is Leia shooting an officer who was standing on top of an AT-ST, this is right after the Ewoks create the diversion.

as a back up or because she likes th gun, Perhaps?
Why did Han and Chewie both take there favorite weapons when they could have been carrying bigger badder Weapons? Luke was only carrying his lightsaber

She might carry a lower-powered weapon because of the lower recoil. Blasters canonically have recoil, after all. Han's weapon is more akin to the "high caliber" guns like a Casull or a .44/.50 caliber Magnum (that is, its punch is close in power to a rifle.) Such weapons can easily be several times more powerful (possibly even an order of magnitude or so) than a simple handgun (depending on caliber and type.) But they also carry high recoil, which can affect handling.Kamakazie Sith wrote: A blaster is a blaster to me. I don't see why Leia would take a weaker weapon when going up against armored soldiers. I think he died. However, you bring up an excellent point. In fact it would be stupid for officers not to be wearing any sort of body armor.Connor MacLeod wrote:The officer survived? I'd like to add that even though it would be stupid for officers not to have body armor we still need evidence that they do wear some type of body armor under the uniform.Kamakazie Sith wrote:I think he died. Thrawn did. HTTE. Standard army and navy personnel do as well IIRC the ISB correctly. Naboo security personnel did as well (TPM VD, I believe.)Kamakazie Sith wrote:I'd like to add that even though it would be stupid for officers not to have body armor we still need evidence that they do wear some type of body armor under the uniform.Kamakazie Sith wrote:I think he died. Hand Phasers can kill, stun, or vaporise large amounts of rock or metal
("chain of command pt. 1", "ST:Insurrection","Vengance Factor")
They are even effective against armored enemys and.Trooper armor has never been seen (in any of the movies) to deflect or even dampen a weapon discharge (and those were wimpy blasters). in frame-by-frame Leia's arm was hit strait on by a full blaster bolt.
