Sorry about the late join in OOB, I've been toying with the idea of playing an STGOD for a while, finally decided to go through with it.

Fleet compositions added for all my battle fleets. First and Fifth are all stationed at my capital and Pinnacle, respectively. The layouts of the others are in the planetary descriptions, although I'm shifting Sixth around a bit.

Great picture, Rogue... yeah, I am kind of wondering what the motivation behind this attack is. But hell, Im a neutral party. Im just hear to watch until I get hired.

OH, an btw, you can hire me on a per-combat/per-campaign basis. In other words, because I am involved on one side of a particular battle does not mean that I am locked into any kind of an alliance. If the other side pays me at the next battle, that is who I will work for.

YES, I can be hired by both sides. (a portion of my fleet on one side, a portion on the other.)
NO, I will not attack my own ships.
YES, I will sell information (If I have it) EG, If one side has approached me to help invade a planet and the other side approaches me at the same time to ask if their planet will be invaded, I can sell that.

Also, I will accept pretty much anything as payment. This includes, but is not limited too, positions at spaceports to repair, repair materials, ships, information, trade rights, and, of course, money.

Hire the Krell! We work... for you.

Just thought of something... what is assumed to be the prevalent technology? Hyperdrive or standard FTL? Standard FTL is ships finding a way to go at speeds beyond c. Hyperdrive is to punch a hole through space-time and travel in a place where time and distance have no meaning. I ask this because of the tactical maneuver executed by Rogue 9 during the defense of his world. He used his FTL to cut off the fleeing opponent. In hyperspace, this is ok. In standard FTL, he slams his fleet into the back of Tychos fleet at speeds approximating 11c.

Kaboom.

The battle is already over, I have no intention to rewrite, but I think this would be a good clarification to make for the future as it will affect tactics and maybe some other things... I only ask because I was under the impression that we were using standard FTL, with minimal gate technology (different from both FTL and hyperspace).

Hey Aly, as nifty as you might think your magic tech is, my people certainly don't have an embassy on your, or any other, planet.
In fact, you don't know our position in space, as we don't exactly broadcast that... :D
We can send and transmit information via some small, automated listening posts...

You don't get where my ships were. I sent that battle group away from the planet so anyone jumping in towards the planet would have their rear or flank towards the battle group. I didn't jump through them.

That's a silly post you've got in the main thread, Dahak... "not a threat?" Tycho just openly transmitted his intention to engage in terrorist attacks against any nation that did not immediate bow to his crazy fundamentalist agenda.

Well, he's quite a bit away, doesn't really know where I am, and I don't have to protect much territory, meaning I can concentrate my forces quite nicely.
And secondly, my people are, as I mentioned, a tad bit arrogant

Alyrium, I have almost my entire military might devoted to conquest right now, and even I haven't started colonizing systems (though that'll change soon enough.)

Unless you are directing an equally large porportion of your resources to your efforts, I would ask that you watch your expansion- claims like that will be hard to defend.

which is why I am building more ships. For the most part I am seeding uninhabited systems with a few hundred colonists(a viable genepool) and they re all within my existing claimed territory. It isnt like I am fighting it out with natives or anything.

The few that are inhabited we are obtaining through.... Well I will be hionest we are obtaing them through mass charm spells over the airwaves. :) No bloodshed, simply increasing the resource base.(also.. we have to raise the food for the legions dragons somewhere)

I will however decrease the claim to half a dozen systems

Normally I wouldn't go through the trouble of conquering these idiots, but that ringworld is just too damn cool.

Oh, OK. Yeah, now I remember when you moved a portion of your fleet.... well done. I would still like clarification on the type of FTL drive, though....

I use standard FTL, as does Alyrium (IIRC.) Almost everyone else uses hyperdrive.

Well, I use Astral Travel. Works much like B5 hyperspace. We basically have a delayed form of teleportation.

FYI

a railgun firing an iron slug that is .8 meters in diameter at .2c will do 92.2 megatons in damage.

This is roughly galactic standard I would think.

Since it looks like I may receive a comission soon, I would like to clarify one thing about my loyalties:

It is not in my interest to betray my clients. If I establish myself as unreliable, then I will get nothing to do in this STGOD. So although the Combine will switch between sides as the money flows, ONCE AN AGREEMENT OF HONOR HAS BEEN SIGNED, THE COMBINE WILL NOT BACKSTAB. Although, such things as "complete secrecy clauses" might cost a bit extra... of course.

Hey, don't poke the fundies with logic, it won't work. May I recommend a more taxing diet of orbital bombardment and invasion?

I had to run some errands, so I am a little confused about where my ships few ships are, are they a part of any attacking force or are the waiting with some fleet of rogue's?

Anyways, I think I will get the entire war machine running.

Edit, and I have more stuff to do, so I'll be back in an hour, and rogue, you can take control of those few ships, be responsible ;)

(Normally I wouldn't think a missing hour would matter but this seems to be expanding really rapidly....)
