The arcane empire was also expanding silently, not only in the planes, but also on the Prime. Their forces prefered not to attack already inhabited worlds, but rather to teraform and colonize empty worlds, while working through more covert ways to take over the governments of inhabited worlds slowly.
They had engaged in several small skirmishes, but nothing to loose ships over.
But they expanded into roughly a half-dozen systems. seeding them with life and shaping the climate to their whims. Then planting colonists
To mat their rate of expansion, the construction of new ships was ordered, and work began immediatly on 3 dreadnoughts, 6 battlecruisers, 10 cruisers 15 frigates, 20 destroyers and 30 strike ships.

From: Veithan Embassy,
To: Arcane Empire
Re: Veithan Position dealing with War against the Covenant of God
The Veithan Empire acknowledges the current situation emerging between the Arcane Empire and the Covenant of God. The actions of the Covenant do leave a lot to be desired, and their apparent willingness to engage in open transgressions against other civilized nations is considered to be appallingly bad form. Although the step to move immediately to war against the Covenant does appear to be rushed, the Veithan Empire acknowledges the possible threat their naked aggression may pose to the galaxy.
It is regrettable however to inform that at this moment, we are unwilling to join our forces alongside yours in order to remove the Covenant as a threat to galactic stability. We will keep an eye on the situation, and our position may change depending upon what occurs in the next few days of the conflict. The Arcane Empire is highly esteemed, and we wish that you and your people will handle the situation properly and safely.

Hajr Command
Fleet Tender Bounty of the Stars
Military Cluster Leviathan
Deep Space outside the Hudson system
The meeting took place outside of the Fleet Tender itself, on one o the hollowed-out asteroids tethered to the massive starship. The spindle-shaped meeting chamber's "wall" was a deceptively ephemeral looking transparent canopy, looking out over the Military Cluster- 30 miles of asteroid colonies, building slips, repair depots, fuel bags, and hydroponics centers, housing a third of the Hajr's non-combat personelle.
The chamber was dominated by a sphere of latticed poles, looking much like a jungle gym. Freeman Davion, having grown up a colony much like this one, recognized it as the Ouster equivelent of a round table. A dozen Ousters in black shipsuits decorated with colorful markings "sat" around the meeting lattice.
The one at the apex bore more ornate markings along the flanks of her suit.
"I am Boundwoman Celicia su Elysium. I speak for, and preside over, the Hajr council, which in turn speaks for, and presides over, the will of the Unbound of the Elysium region. Welcome, Freeman Hanse Davion. I will get to the point. What do you ask of us? For what reason do you seek an audiance with the forerunners of the Diaspora?"

Politics
Veithan Empire, Veitha System
Veitha III, Government Headquarters
“Our envoys seem to have been better received than expected.” The mental thoughts of the president rippled through the minds of those gathered in the room. The meeting was one of routine, one of the near constant scheduled to deal with Veithan policy as well as overt and covert actions. Although the president was not a prime (he was a distant P2) a dozen or so white-clad primes around him made sure that his mind was an unassailable fortress in defense and undeniable in the attack. It was the Director of Intelligence that unsurprisingly had the boldness and desire to answer the president’s question.
”The local fiefdoms are naturally wary of us, but we are a known quantity and they at least feel that they understand and know our position. If we had wanted to annex them, we would have done so by now and there is little they could have done to stop us. In truth, as everyone in this room is aware we simply decided that a more covert approach was needed for our long term goals. Our plans have been working so far, but the introduction of the new power believed to be the Ousters by Lilandra, and its actions on Jomungandr have made some people very nervous. Our envoys were met with a bit of cynicism, but we are not known to be liars and thus our warnings were taken fairly seriously. With the addition of the problem with Covenant of God, the minor powers are suddenly faced with two possible invaders whose designs and ideologies are unknown. We have been quite fortunate that things turned out the way they have.”
The president nodded, considering the director’s words before telepathically speaking to the group once more. “I see. So tell me, what do the local fiefdoms think of our proposals?”
The director of intelligence smiled before he spoke. “Our proposals were for the most part seen as favorable. Our defense industry will be quite pleased with the results, and two of the fiefdoms are considering closer ties with us. I believe that a mutual defense treaty would not be out of the question, we would be able to press for several concessions from the interested parties. Furthermore, if their economies integrate with our own...I am certain that we all can see the possibilities.” The Empire was an economic power house, and could slowly but surely force the smaller fiefdoms into economic dependence under the proper circumstances. The ability to win a war without firing a shot was true power. Wars in the shadows were wars that he was quite good at.
The president nodded, obviously pleased with the current situation. “I want our forces to be moved to a heightened state of alert. We have to take the Covenant seriously, although I doubt they would wish to directly try and meddle with our affairs. Director Cameron, you have my outmost confidence. Until our next meeting, we are adjourned.”

The Emperor wishes to form an alliance against these rogues, and any other power that wishes to berligerently disrupt peace and stability in Known space. The Psilon convoy had taken a mighty detour and kept the mine defense screens on in till they reached Verling station. The freighters left towards Pinnacle. The Commodore called the commander of the station.
"We heard about the suicidal attack at Pittance, and while the Emperor hasn't yet issued statements, this un-provoked attack will no doubt put the Psilons to war. Rather then make the long journey home I would like to take my flight and place my self under the strategic control of any Nashtar fleets taking offensive action against the Covenant."

"The system defenses here are not raiding at this time. That is up to the fleet concentrations at Pinnacle and Joyous Gard. For now, we get your ships unloaded and load in your station components. Have the first freighter pull into the stockyard. The trade deal goes as scheduled."Jaded Masses wrote:The Psilon convoy had taken a mighty detour and kept the mine defense screens on in till they reached Verling station. The KSN third fleet emerged from hyperspace on the outskirts of the Pinnacle system.
"Attention Nashtarian forces, this is Admiral Conner of the KSN third fleet. Do you still require assistance?"

Ships cruised out towards the Krytosian fleet, turrets still trained inward but at full alert all the same. "Negative Admiral, the Covenant force was insufficient to threaten our defenses. It has been crushed. We thank you for your concern."

Never the less, your offer is tempting. We appreciate the Krytos Star Empire's efforts over the years. Therefor, I extend this counter-offer. In exchange for that system you offered AND colonization rights to the outer reaches (and not the planets) of three Covenant systems, should any be taken, We will render unto you the Third War Cluster- consisting of the Fleet Tender Glorious Return and a third of the Hajr's Known Space war-fleet.
Is that acceptable?"
Faran Tor was a bit annoyed. His promised break of a week had been cut two days short. Krell had informed him of the possibility of negotiations with the Arcane Empire, and sent him off to the Verrik system. Now he was almost there.
Faran Tor was a bit nervous. Krell had not fully informed him of the current realtion between the Arcane Empire and the Combine. As such, he did not know exactly the terms on which he would be meeting with the Arcane Embassador. And he remembered his last encounter with the Arcane Diplomatic Corps well, and was in no hurry to repeat the encounter.
Faran Tor was a bit excited. He was about to negotiate the sale of arms to a major power. He was about to do his job. He loved his job.
The Krell transport pulled into the Verrik system.

Tor greeted the mage with a smile and a extended his hand.
"Thank you for meeting with us. We received the Covenant's message, and anticipated contact soon. Because we have worlds to protect - permanent clients, you understand - we reserve half of our total strength to protecting our client systems, who are somewhat worried. The rest of our forces are at your disposal. If" he smiled, "the price is right."

"We have raids from the Sixth Fleet arming up at Joyous Gard. We're transmitting the coordinates now. Fifth and Third fleets are gearing up for fleet offensive actions and should be ready within two days. The forces at Joyous Gard are fast raiders, not the heavy hitters, but you may go and offer your services to Commodore Drayson, who is commanding the raids." 'Well as I said... our currency of choice are Gold and Platinium coins... No one else uses them for money and both metals are in high demand... So it all really depnds on how much you want. We would be willing to pay 10 thousand Platinum for the job(this comes out to around 10 million credits)"

The matter will be turned over to the masters of the Third War Cluster. We will furnish you with their communications codes and Freecaster bands. I should warn you, few of our vessels have conventional hypercomms, and I doubt the Coalition vessels have any Freecasters. We'll send a half dozen back with your vessel, on the grounds that you allow us to also send one observer/liasion officer with each one, and return them when the action is over.
We shall communicate the orders to the Third War Cluster immediatly, and they will contact the Coalition leaders for target information."
