I don't think it's a good idea to make a martyr of him (no matter ho much he deserves to die). International pressure is not the only reason the Israelis haven't assasinated him: They know that if he expires of natural causes (which can't be too far off), none of the Palestinians will give a shit, but if he is slain, he will become a martyr to them.
