NHL Playoff Action

Post by Robert Treder »

Congratulations to the Pacific Division Champions on advancing to Round 2 in their quest for Lord Stanley's Cup.
And Congratulations to Mark Smith and Marcel Goc for scoring their first ever playoff points.

Here's hoping Colorado and Nashville win their series (not holding my breath for Nashville) to make things easier on Los Tiburones.

Hell YES!

The real question, though, is whether or not the Canucks can get it together and beat Calgary. If Vancouver wins, it'll be MUCH easier on the Sharks than having to play the Avs in Round II.

Meh. They're probably just upset about the way they lost the previous game.

I should be excited about the Flyers being up 3-1, but we've been here before and the results were ugly.

I say the Flyers'll beat the Devils, but they won't get past round 2. Those guys always choke (though I am wearing a Flyers jersey as I type this. *sigh*)

And the Habs'll take it to Game 7. I don't know if they'll win that, but they'll take it to seven.

If Ottawa somehow pulls off a a huge miracle and beats Toronto, which ain't gonna happen the the Flyers will be fine. Ottawa can't play for shit in the playoffs. But if you run into Toronto which is almost guaranteed to happen, you'll be in for some of the best hockey ever. I predict a long vicious series with both teams losing half their players to injuries, and the Leafs will win it in game 7.

Ottawa knocked us out last year. Of course they did it because we couldn't score a fucking goal (the only games we won were shutouts), but they still knocked us out.

I'd LOVE a Philadelphia-Toronto series. Last year's was fun stuff. Especially the part where we won. :P

Tampa iced it, today, after beating New York.

I'm rooting for Dallas (strange position, for me) and Vancouver.

RedImp, I don't know if your watching the game right now but if the first few minutes are any indication this is going to be a brutal game.

Yea yea. You had just better pray to the hockey gods that it's Toronto and not Ottawa you face in the second round. :P Besides, it's tradition for the Devils to lose in the first round the year after they win the Stanley Cup.

But anyway, congrats to the Flyers. Still can't believe that shot Markov pulled off......

The Leafs played like shit last year, unfortunately they're still playing like shit half the time, but that's still a 50% improvement over last year. If the Leafs can play some good consistant games you guys are fucked.

That kind of talk'll get you killed in these parts. But it doesn't matter anyways, since they're gone. Now I have to go watch Vancouver in overtime. This is tense.

Oh, and Crackpot: Habs force game 7! Nya-nya! I'd fear the Fleet Center, but game 6 was at Molson. I expect Boston to take game 7, though.

All right, going into the third overtime, Canucks and Flames still four-all. Place your bets.

The smart money's on Calgary, but I'm holding out for Vancouver (even though I like Calgary better). I just don't want the Sharks to have to play Colorado and then Detroit right after.

CANUCKS SCORE!!!

All right, now they just need to win at home and the Sharks are set to roll into the Conference Finals.

Mmmm...saw our ticket connection for Game 2 of the Leafs - Ottawa series on TV at about 9 minutes into the 1st overtime period. She's the chick with the reddish hair and "Go Leafs Go" written in gold ink on her cheek. Leafs damn well better win tonight.

edit: Goddamnit they lost. You don't give the puck away to a fucking redshirt in your own zone!

Ottawa won game 6 so we'll soon find out who'll advance.

I want Ottawa to win.
