My problem with their hits is that they use missiles in residential areas.

I agree with you on priciple, but does anyone know Israel's laws in regards to assasinating their own people? You couldn't pull something like this off in the US, everyone is entitled to a trial by jury no matter what they have done.

In any case, the real issue here is their flagrent disregard for civilian life inside their own borders. The fact that Bush seems to be condoning this sort of behavior is despicable and is an amusing contrast to his reasons for taking out Saddam's regime considering that Israel has been even for flagrent in their disregard for international law.

1) Tremendous US military aid.

Its a risk you run when you attack a nation. The various Arab states gambled, attacked, and lost. The U.S. has land we took in wars, should we give it back?

That's an excellent point, and it's exactly how I feel. I had an argument with one of my history teachers about this topic and, after presenting him with direct evidence of Israel's attrocities, he pulled me aside after class and told me that Israel was not a topic to be discussed in his class because he might have holocaust survivors oir children of holocaust survivors taking it for all he knew.

I told him that if anything, holocaust survivors would be on my side since after all, they know better than anyone the dangers of an ethnic state.

I think there is a certain amount of guilt that Americans feel about the heavily publicized holocaust (as opposed to the rest of the attrocities of the 20th century like Stalin's reign of terror that claimed at least 10 million Russian lives) and that we feel that Israel is allowed to repress other people or form an ethnic state because they were oppressed. That makes about as much sense as letting a rape victim rape another totally unrelated person as retribution...
