Where are you, NCAA lacrosse rankings?

Post by Zaia »

I've been away from my beloved Johns Hopkins lacrosse teams for a couple of weeks now, and I've fallen behind in where they stand in the rankings. I did a number of searches and only found outdated ranking charts (from the first weekend of April).

Anyone know where I can find a current one that includes the Hopkins win over the University of Maryland from yesterday? (Go Hop, w00t w00t!)

Thanks. :D

I looked on NCAA.org...looks like they're only updated every two weeks or so.

If it's going to included the win from Saturday wouldn't it be likely that the new rankings wouldn't be out until Sunday night at the earliest? Otherwise I would think that Monday or Tuesday would be the more likely time frame to find new rankings.

This one is through April 13th, 2004 Still nothing through April 17th though. This looks a little more like a specific writer's own power rankings and not the official NCAA rankings.

Another Poll Through April 12th

Most of what I saw made it look like the next offical polls won't be out until the 21st.

Go Navy! :D

Thanks, guys. Guess I'll just have to wait for the update, then. *twiddles thumbs*

I think lacrosse needs more rabid fans that post scores and rankings immediately, like with marching band. Scores are posted literally 20 minutes after competitions end. What's wrong with lax fans that they don't do the same? Sheesh. :D

Go Hop! Navy can't stop you, bwahaha!

What you need are lacrosse pep bands. They could be modeled after our (women's) volleyball pep bands: fanatical and obnoxious, with a mission to get everyone else interested so that every match has overflow crowds (and now most matches are played to overflow crowds...admittedly the limit we can fit into the gym is about 1200 but that's still pretty good for regular attendance, you have to admit). We started up the interest and keep it up. Heck, our pep band is so important to the volleyball team that they know who we all are (I can pass them on the sidewalk and they'll wave because they recognize me) and I think the NCAA had to add rules to 'regulate' the bands at volleyball games. The coach loves us for being so supportive of our team and simultaneously being so distracting to opposing teams. Heh. Not that I'll admit being involved in that, of course.

Not only does Hopkins lacrosse have a pep band, but I'm in the pep band, and we ROCK, baby! We go to every single game. Problem is, I've been busy for the past 3 weekends and I haven't gone to the games, so I don't know where we stand with the rest of the teams.

But, oh yes, we do have a pep band. And oh yes, we play Navy this weekend (Bwahahah). :D
