Junior at college, double-majoring in math and computer science. Already got an AA degree in Spanish (long story).
Thanks to the whole education system getting turned upside down, though, I'm not going to be able to go to college next semester because I can't afford it and I'm basically disqualified for most scholarships and financial aid thanks to the IRS changing the rules (they seriously think that out of a $46,000 income, my parents are going to pay me $26,000...)

Unfortunatly, we probably will not be seeing you all summer... and then depending on where you go to college next year... Oy. I may have to find a whole new group of nerds to hang out with.

High school graduate. Well, not yet. But in 2 months, so I figured I might as well click that.

That's strange, I'm not getting any financial aid and I'm getting by ok. My parents have not contributed anything so far to my costs of education. I think you could probably find away around the situation. What college are you wanting to go to?
I think I'm experiencing amnesia and deja vu at the same time, I seem to remember forgetting this before.

Working on a BASc. in Aerospace Engineering, specializing in Aerodynamics and Propulsion, if my exams next week go well I will have only one year left. Oh, I'm going to Last Chan...er Carleton U.

BA in computer science. I'm currently doing system integration work with COTS hardware and software, and damn its FUN! Specifically, I do C/C++ work on Windows machines, and I've done a fair amount of Java and some work with firmware. Future projects will have me doing more realtime work, as well as various data processing libraries.
Artillery. Its what's for dinner.

I don't have a job right now, and I don't have much in the way of reserves laid up. I was working as a math tutor at a local junior college, but when the budget got slashed for that, I was informed that the math department had been requested to slash most of their tutoring staff. So I went.Supreme Monkey Lord wrote:That's strange, I'm not getting any financial aid and I'm getting by ok. My parents have not contributed anything so far to my costs of education. And last year I did the FAFSA and was deemed eligible for financial aid, plus I got one of the scholarships, so I was able to go full-time for the past year.
I am going to find a way around this -- right now, the option seems to be "get a job" since most undergrad scholarships, public and private, seem to rely on your financial aid status at least in part -- but I need a break from college anyway. Catching mono hasn't helped my ability to study at all.

Ed.S. in Counseling and Human Systems from FSU. For those not familiar with it, that's an Education Specialist and ranks between a Masters and a Ph.D. I'm currently working as a High School Guidance Counselor (don't laugh:lol:) in Orlando, FL.

Getting finanical aid is a big bullshit story in California. If your parents work, even though they are going to give you ZERO money for school, you can't get aid. If you are white, forget it.Colonel Olrik wrote:Fuck! I really haven't gotten any scholarships that are signifigant. If I'm not mistaken you can get up to 40k from FASFA as an undergrad.
