24: Day 3 6:00AM-7:00AM(Spoilers)

Post by neoolong »

Anybody else watching this? Damn great stuff. If this was a lesser show they would have had Chase be able to catch Saunders at the last minute, and Chappelle would have been saved.

But this being 24, Bauer has to shoot him in the back of the head.

One good thing about this episode being pre-empted, it means that it is only 2 days until the next new episode.

It was an excellent episode. Chapelle turned out to be exactly how I thought he was, a pretty much lonely guy who only had his work. That's what makes it so sad. Very much like George Mason last season, except Mason actually had a chance to make amends with his son.

Bauer is a refreshingly good protagonist. All he sees are the numbers on each side, and he unquestioningly makes his decision based on those numbers.

And Sherry Palmer is a complete über-bitch this season. I wonder if Wayne will be able to cover up the real story about Millican's death.

I liked how it wasn't a complete retread of Mason. George turned out to be a really good hero at the end. Knew he was going to die, took Jack's place without really hesitating.

Sure, there was the whole radiation thing, but Mason seemed to take the impending death thing pretty well at the end.

Chappelle on the other hand, tried to run, and when he wanted to kill himself, couldn't pull the trigger. But he didn't try to get out of it at the very end. Very real.

Mason tried to flee the city when he found out there was a nuclear bomb in it, though. There was no real way for him to escape his death; there was for Chapelle.

That's true, it does make the situation different.

I got into this show just this season and I really pissed I passed this over for Smallville those two previous years.

I highly recommend renting both the previous seasons on DVD and watching them. Season 2 is absolutely spectacular. Granted, season 1 was very good, but season 2 just blew it out of the water. Season 3 just now kicked into high gear.
