That actually happened to my father, they bound his left hand to his chair if he dared to write with the left hand.

I suspect it's a mixture of superstition/tradition and not being bothered to inventing or buying stuff for lefties to use for writing or whatever better.

Why in Valen's name would they? While there ARE a number of Mice fitted for the right hand, there's also any number that's neutral, and since switching button functions is a software option, what's the problem? (And that's assuming you need to, I'm a southpaw and I manage with the usual button layout just fine).
What I REALLY want is a right-handed throttle quadrant...

I believe that they do, but the whole thing seems to be a waste to me, as I can use just about any mouse just fine with my right hand. In fact, it seems harder to use my left hand to control them.
