Well, let's see. Assuming we bring it up to the current Skylark tech levels...

You've got a few choices. The original version came with four feet of steel armor and several fifty caliber machine guns (offhand, I'd guess six). Later the armor was changed to arenak, and then to isonon which was incredibly resiliant to abuse. Of course, it can mount up to Fifth-Order shields, so even hitting the armor is going to be a feat and a half. Propulsion comes from a Rovolon-Uranium reaction, which produces an acceleration rate of 127 times the speed of light (no maximum). Fourth-Order shields can even be used to slice off parts of enemy ships, and, if those fifty caliber machine guns (even with their kiloton/megaton X-plosive bullets) don't quite suit you, you should be able to hook up some Fourth or Fifth-Order projectors, easily enough. The frame might be too small, in which case I still have a spare Skylark Three floating around (3.3km long, sort of zepplin-shaped rather than spherical). In which case, you too can lay down 7.8 petatons at ranges of over 200,000 light years. :D
I'll take the Skylark Three.

A good choice, a good choice. Still quite a decent ship, and it comes with a upgraded Skylark of Space as a lifeboat, just in case.

Of course, they still can't compare to the raw, unadulterated power of the Skylark of Valeron and the Capital D, but those are my choices. Specifically the Capital D, which is considerably better than the Skylark of Valeron.

Can't go wrong with that one (the wedge-shaped ship, not the TIE's). I'd just like to command one, but outside of doing so in some future on-line game, that won't happen.

I'm voting Other: personally, my choice would be USS Reliant.

Not as expensive as any of the others would be, (since we're talking about spending money on these bastards, do you really want to know what the insurance would be like on the Executor?) Easy to maintain, tough-as-fucking-nails, decent power (almost took out a ship twice its size) and not bad looking, in its own way. Yep, I'd take a Miranda. But I'd name mine the S.S. Castlebar, for reasons that are purely my own. 8)

Holy shit, you mean Lensman was Doc Smith's idea of a low power sci-fi setting? Where can I find the Skylark books these days?

Heh, yeah. Lensmen was damn near gritty compared to Skylark.

You can probably find the books on Amazon. They are, in order:
  • Skylark of Space
  • Skylark Three
  • Skylark of Valeron
  • Skylark DuQuesne

Here's an idea for some strange reason(insert Techobable) all hyperdrives now perform the same as a warp drive. Will this affect your choice or will it do nothing for your favorite choice? More than a yes or no answer would be best.

Even without the hyperdrive advantage, the Executor still dominates in shielding, firepower, and terror factor. So no.

So this thing can go back in time and change the past with no Paradoxes in Dr. Who, and has been shown to do so?
This really could cause a problem or two with time to which, no doubt, the real Tardis will show up and you will have to deal with Dr Who yourself.
