The Empire should just send their most retarded droid to meet the Replicators, they'll think it's their mommy..

The Replicators were able to take 3 Asgard warships and soup them up in firepower by such an extreme level that when 5 Asgard ships came to destroy the infected 3, the infected three survived unscathed.

FYI, even the Replicators built of the advanced Asgard technology were suseptible to projectile weaponry. Remember the single remaining advanced replicator on the Russian sub? They killed it with projectile fire. Pure KE will damage and destroy replicators, but thermal and energy weapons just piss them off.

All it takes is a single replicator to get on board an ISD and its game over. The replicator will start munching through all the non critical stuff creating more and more replicators. In just 8 hours it can create litterally thousands (because each new replicator starts producing). They can completely subvert and take over the ship. Once they control the ship, they begin improving its technology VERY quickly. In less then 9 hours the ship will have its FTL technology increased by massive factors, that doesn't even take into account the weapons, shields, sub light, and hyper-mater reactors.

Any battle the replicators can't win, they can easily outrun anything sent against them. All they have to do is take over the pathetically small planets and take their technology, then they can use Asgard Hyperdrive to interdict and cut off the Empire. In less then a year the Replicators could take down the Empire.

IIRC ISDs don't have centralised systems like Asgard and Goa'uld ships, they'd have to take everything including each turbolaser battery individually, surely this would give the crew more time to counterattack.

You can't really counter-attack the Replicators. They can move through just about any place on the ship. They aren't restricted by the coridors. They would be invincible to just about any SW weapon other then slug-throwers.

Would Thermal Detonators and other such explosives be effective against them?
In any case, any extra delay might buy the crew enough time to send a distress signal or self-destruct the ship.. although the Replicators would probably go for those systems first to assure victory.
Nevertheless I think they would lose the first ship due to how they must also learn to take full control of new tech, but they would probably have little trouble once they got to a 2nd ship.

Thermal detonators may work, if I understand they way they do damage, it is by superheating the air around them, which causes the gas to expand rapidly. This could blow replicators apart. If it does work that way.

I have to agree... The Empire's gonna loose a tonne of ships here in this senario. However, the Replicators are going to get a shock or 2 as well... As was previously mentioned, Asguard and Gar'ould ships are all very centrally controlled. The replicators can overtake "The main computer" and the ship is theirs. (as shown in the episode with Cronas' ship under command of Apophis who took it from SG-1 who took it from Cronas) Imperial ships are not like that. The Replicators would have to be able to overtake every sub-system of the ship pretty much to take the ship. I also think that the blaster may have a little more kenetic force than other forms of energy weapons... Also I'd like to see the effects of a Lightsabre - indeed the force - on these critters. However yes, The Ex Asguard - Replicators greater than lightspeed propultion is extremely quick, and has a few - odd - differences. We have seen Gar'ould ships hyperspace -THROUGH- a planet on at least one occasion. And on one occasion enter hyperspace inside the atmosphere of a planet, so I'd seriously doubt the effectiveness of an Interdictor on Replicator Hyperspace ability also. We Have seen a grenade used on Replicators also (on the Russian Submarine) and although they split apart and were immobilized for a few seconds, most of the replicator pieces rejoined with quite spectacular speed within about 10 seconds. Theyre ability to travel THROUGH walls will be very tormenting to the Stormines and to anyone having survived one Replicator infestation, I suspect morale will decline very quickly (as with the Jaffa serving Apophis on Cronas's Ha'Tak Cruiser)

The only thing is... Will the Replicators really wipe out the Asguard? For sure they are winning mostly at the moment, but then, I think there is still hope.

The thing I want to see is, what would Jedi think of the Stargate technology? Evil abomination on the force? or an interesting application of wormhole technology? I saw some reference to a comic somewhere about the "Gate Keepers" in Star Wars literature somewhere, where an aincent peoples were 'guardians' of these structures which would apply hyperspace technology to an object passing through a suspiciously stargate-looking device, but these had been in ruins for millinia.

But to end on topic, I reccon the Replicators have some serious advantages over the Empire.

With use of the Asgard teleporter technology, all they have to do is batter down the shields of another ISD (since they have upgraded their own to massive capabilities, this should be no problem) and then send in the hordes to the specific locations. Cripple the command staff of the ISD and it can't function properly. Take over the drive systems and energy systems and they can move the ISD about at will and slowly cut off any crew that resist.

Alyeska: You're forgetting about the X-302 jumping into hyperspace in Earth's atmosphere carrying the stargate. :)

Unfortunately, they'll just respawn and resume whatever they were doing or come after the poor sap that threw the detonator.
