I jsut don't understand the JWs. I read a little about them and their basic tenets are quite "reasonable". Basically come resurrection day, everyone and his dog get asked by Jesus if they prefer ressurection and eternal life, or oblivion. Then everbody gets to live on a receated (and hopefully larger) earth. 144,000 people get to live in hevan where they preform administrative duties for all eternity, such as making sure Hitler and Stalin keep at least 50 yards apart.

It's all very inclusive and feel-goody with none of the "yer gonna burn in hell" of fundementalist christianity. But for some reason, the JW's think being an eternal beaurocrat is a good thing, especially when the alternative is an everlasting long weekend. Then they come up with a lot of bizzare rules and beliefs to make sure that they're worthy of being picked for one of the 144,000 positions, as if during the interview god will be asking if you ever had pre-marital sex or a blood transfusion, instead of questions like, do you have any experience in managing a large organization, or where do you see yourself in 5 billion years?

Has anybody here besides me actually attended a JW service? Those who deny that they use cult brainwashing methods should try attending one of their services. They're a lot like Amway.

Attended their services? No. Seen the results of those services on members? Yes. (Although the members in question had been fundie Baptists the year before; they just can't make up their minds. But whatever denomination they're currently on, its always fundamentalist.
