If this is true how come it was not mentioned before,what about Dieppe i tought this too was a fucked-up rehearsal

I think what Shep is pointing out is that the men in the picture are servants of the Crown, though they are identified in the caption as US servicemen.

Exactly. AFAIK, all commonwealth soldiers wore the things.

IIRC, that helmet design was also used by the Americans during WWI, and up to a few years before WWII...

incorrect! report to distengration booth #213F for pennance, HAB Minion.

US troops used that helmet until about 1942 or so. The Marines on Midway
Island during the June 1942 battle wore them, and also carried Springfield
rifles (a knock off of teh Mauser 98) until US War production could replace
WWI stocks

Well, you're now a HAB minion under HAB bylaw 21124(f)C that
states that all board members with suggestive usernames are considered
under THE GREAT LEADER'S benevolent rule unless otherwise contradicted

I live quite near to where the rehearsal took place, and the town which was evacuated by the Govt so that the americans had a place to practice, is about 5 miles away from my school

I get the distinct impression they are trying to recruit me into the HAB
